Wuxi Wan (Black Rhinoceros Horn Pill) is indicated for various types of accumulation stagnation complicated by fright or wind pathogens. It warms the Stomach, regulates the Spleen, promotes food digestion, treats vomiting and regurgitation of sour odor, sallow complexion, and emaciation. It is suitable for infants regardless of how long they have been born.
Ingredients: Wuxi (i.e., Gleditsiae Fructus Cortex / Soap Pod Peel, cut into three-cun long pieces of peel, roasted in ash fire until green smoke rises, taken out, covered with a clay bowl on the ground to retain its nature, used when cool, 7 qian); Liuhuang (Sulfur); Baijiang (White Ginger, each 3.5 qian); Chenpi (Tangerine Peel, pith removed); Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata, processed, skin and lateral roots removed, each 5 qian); Badou (Crotonis Fructus, 77 seeds, shell, membrane, and core removed, oil retained).
Preparation and Administration: First, grind Liuhuang (Sulfur) finely in a mortar. Except for Badou (Crotonis Fructus), roast the remaining four ingredients and grind them into powder. Slice Badou (Crotonis Fructus) thinly and pound it finely in a porcelain mortar. Mix this with the previous five powders thoroughly. Wrap the mixture in a large dumpling made of glutinous rice, steam it in a small clay bottle with water until cooked, take it out when cool, pound it thoroughly in a sand mortar, strain tightly through fine cloth to extract a thick paste, and place it in another container. Divide the herbal powder evenly, mix with the paste, pound until soft, and form pills the size of millet seeds. For eliminating various accumulations, administer 15 pills, or 5 pills, or 21 pills, up to 33 pills per dose. Take with a small cup of juice extracted from cold rice soaked in light ginger decoction, administered on an empty stomach at dawn (wugeng time). If bowel movements occur 3-5 times, stop using this formula and switch to Yunqi San (Harmonizing Qi Powder) to tonify. For treating vomiting due to accumulation accompanied by sour odor, administer 3 to 5 pills per dose. Use light ginger decoction with a little rice vinegar, warm it, and take on an empty stomach.
Fuling Nongpu Tang (Poria and Magnolia Bark Decoction) is indicated for Taiyang disease or wind-cold attack complicated by phlegm causing vomiting and regurgitation, rattling of saliva in the throat after vomiting and diarrhea, reduced appetite, and deficiency of Qi in the Spleen and Stomach.

Preparation and Administration: Chop the above ingredients. For each dose, use 2 qian, add 1.5 cups of water and 3 slices of ginger, decoct until one-seventh remains. Take at any time. Alternatively, add one jujube (pitted) and decoct together.
