Guizhi Lingzao Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Poria Decoction): Treats vomiting and diarrhea caused by dampness invading the stomach and intestines.
Ingredients: Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, Poria, Alismatis Rhizoma, Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, Polyporus, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (stir-fried, equal parts), Cinnamomi Ramulus (a small amount).

Banli San (Half-Millet Powder): Treats vomiting and diarrhea due to deficiency-cold of the spleen and stomach in children, as well as cold-phlegm.

Qian Yi stated: Vomiting and diarrhea with undigested milk indicate food injury; purgation is appropriate. The son of Feng Chengwu, aged five, suffered from vomiting, diarrhea, high fever, and anorexia. Qian Yi observed that the child had less black iris and more white sclera, with a pale complexion, stating that this child would likely suffer from frequent illnesses. A pale complexion indicates deficient spirit; less black iris indicates kidney deficiency. Since the black iris corresponds to Water, inherent weakness and deficiency lead to frequent illness. Even if he grows up, his muscles will not be robust, he will not tolerate cold or heat, his condition will easily shift between deficiency and excess, and his spleen and stomach will also be weak. He must not indulge in alcohol; without proper care, he will not reach middle age. A face lacking spiritual luster resembles blood loss in women. Current symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, and high fever indicate food injury. Furthermore, those with deficiency and timidity should not be purged; purging causes pathogenic factors to enter the Lung causing cough, the Heart causing palpitations/fright, the Spleen causing diarrhea, and the Kidney exacerbating deficiency. It is better to use Xiaoji Wan (Accumulation-Dissolving Pill) to grind down accumulation, as there is only slight food retention. If the injury is severe, purgation can be used; otherwise, it may develop into a mass (Pi Ji). If solid food remains internally, purgation is also applicable. After purgation, tonifying the Spleen ensures recovery. Following deficiency and excess patterns, efficacy is guaranteed. [Zeng] Qian Yi said: Vomiting milk with yellow stool indicates hot milk injury; vomiting milk with green stool indicates cold milk injury. Both require purgation, which is the method of "attacking and seizing." However, for hot injury, Wuling San (Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria) is used to guide rebellious qi downward; for cold injury, Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction) is used to warm the middle jiao, leading to natural recovery. If spleen meridian stagnation persists and is re-injured by diet, resulting in alternating vomiting and diarrhea, Sanleng San (Curcuma Powder) should be used to resolve accumulation, and Shouwei San (Stomach-Guarding Powder) to harmonize the stomach.
