According to *Gui Yi Fang* (Ghost's Legacy): If a sore erupts on both soles of the feet and penetrates to the bone, it is incurable. If the skin on the sole is slightly broken, the eruption is not deep, and there is little pus, it is treatable. A toxic swelling and pain in the sole of the foot, also known as Yongquan Ju (abscess at the Yongquan acupoint), is commonly called Bing Chuan Ban (disease penetrating the board) or Chuan Ku Chi She (snake piercing the hole). This condition is caused by deficiency and damage to the Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. It is suitable to apply moxibustion with garlic partitioning. For excess patterns, administer Huoming Yin (Life-Saving Decoction) followed by Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill); if exterior or interior syndromes are present, induce sweating or purge accordingly based on severity. For deficiency patterns, administer large doses of Shiquan Dabu Tang (Ten-Agent Great Tonifying Decoction) and Bawei Dihuang Wan (Eight-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill), administered regardless of morning or night. If ulceration occurs accompanied by vomiting, rebellious qi, coma, and confusion, with a faint and intermittent pulse, death ensues.
