Chew chestnuts thoroughly and apply the paste to the injured area. Another prescription: finely chop *Leonurus japonicus* (Yimucao, 益母草), stir-fry with vinegar, and apply as a sealant to the lesion. If the toxin enters the heart, drink *Portulaca oleracea* (Machixian, 马齿苋) decoction; the illness will resolve.
Burn cat hair into ash and apply to the wound. Alternatively, fill the bite wound with cat feces. Apply musk powder and bandage the area.
Calcine turtle shell or soft-shelled turtle shell into powder, mix with sesame oil, and apply topically.
Pound wild vegetables into a paste and pack them fully into the injured wound cavity. No need to change; new flesh will grow naturally leading to recovery. There was a case where someone died from a bite but was cured using this prescription.
[Dan] For pain and toxicity caused by bear or tiger bites, boil pig iron until it has an odor, then use it to wash the wound. (*Qianjin Fang*). For wounds caused by tiger bites: tightly roll green cloth, ignite one end, insert into a bamboo tube, and direct the smoke into the wound for best results. (*Meishi Fang*). Wash the wound with clarified oil, and simultaneously drink one bowl of clarified oil. Another method: wash with a strong decoction of *Pueraria lobata* (Gegen, 葛根). Another method: apply with sugar water solution, and concurrently drink one to two bowls of sugar water.
[Shi] For wounds caused by tiger bites: crush leaves of *Ziziphus jujuba* var. *spinosa* (Suanzaoye, 酸枣叶 - note: text says "子叶" referring to pig fat leaf contextually linked to Ziziphus or similar in local materia medica, here interpreted based on annotation as pig fat related herbology) into fine powder and apply. (Note: *Bencao* states that the leaves associated with pig fat can treat tiger and dog bites.)
For bear bites: burn green cloth to fumigate the wound to expel toxins, then wash with a strong decoction of *Pueraria lobata* (Gegen, 葛根), ten times daily. Also, pound *Pueraria lobata* (Gegen, 葛根) to extract juice, make into a powder, and take one cubic inch of the boiled juice five times daily for recovery.
If donkey saliva or horse sweat enters a wound, swelling will gradually worsen; treat urgently, otherwise the toxin will penetrate deeply and become incurable. Apply raw *Aconitum carmichaelii* (Wutou, 乌头) powder to the wound surface; after a while, yellow fluid will discharge and relief will follow immediately.
[Shi] To treat donkey saliva or horse sweat entering a wound: remove the heart of *Polygala tenuifolia* (Yuanzhi, 远志), grind into powder, mix with wine, and apply. Another method: dry the green skin of winter melon in the shade, grind into powder, and apply to the wound. Another method: if horse sweat enters the flesh and the toxin spreads like a red line, chew fresh *Vitis vinifera* (Wumei, 乌梅) meat thoroughly and apply to the wound. Another formula: mash *Vitis vinifera* (Wumei, 乌梅) including the pit, mix with good vinegar to form a paste. First, puncture the wound with a needle to drain all purple-red blood, wipe dry, apply the paste, and bind securely with silk. Wang Shi treated injuries from donkey saliva and horse sweat toxicity by mixing equal parts of refined alum (Baifan, 白矾) and calcined cinnabar (Huandan, 黄丹) fried until purple, wrapping them together, and applying to the affected area.
[Meng] *Portulaca oleracea* (Machixian, 马齿苋) also treats horse poison sores. Boil in water, drink one sheng, and apply half to the sore. For wet tinea and white alopecia, apply *Portulaca oleracea* paste mixed with ash for efficacy.
