Use a small bamboo tube to draw the medicinal liquid. Have the patient sit upright, tilt head slightly back, blow the medicine into both nostrils. After a while, lift the patient; discharge of phlegm-saliva indicates efficacy. To stop salivation, have the patient drink one or two mouthfuls of warm salt water. Avoid chicken, fish, raw/hard foods, and wet dough.

Measure the patient's usual alcohol consumption. First, let them drink freely until drunk, but do not allow vomiting. Place in a quiet room. Mix all the above medicines as one dose, adjust with warm wine to fill one cup, and instruct to drink in one go. For those who usually drink little, simply intoxicate them according to their capacity. After taking the medicine, arrange bed and pillow for lying down. For mild cases, wait half a day to one day; for severe cases, two to three days. Family members should observe secretly. When breathing becomes regular, do not wake them, nor startle them awake. Wait for them to wake naturally; then the spirit and soul will stabilize. If startled awake, treatment cannot be repeated. Lord Wu Zhengsu suffered from heart disease in his youth; after taking one dose of this, he woke after five days and subsequently recovered.

Take one pill per dose, dissolve in Jin Yin Bohe Tang (Gold/Silver Leaf and Menthae Haplocalycis Herba Decoction); warm wine is also acceptable.
This is my family's secret formula. In the year Wushen, a soldier in the army broke the law. He was stripped to receive punishment but was released. His spirit suddenly vanished, appearing dull. I gave him one pill. After taking it, he slept. Upon waking, the illness had disappeared. Zhang Zaiyang, a military inspector, had a wife who had lost her mind for several years due to fleeing bandits. I taught her this formula; she recovered before finishing one dose. Also, the wife of Huang Yanqi suffered from manic-jue for over ten years. Various doctors failed. I taught her this formula, removing Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) and adding Tiefen (Iron Powder). She recovered before finishing one dose. Tiefen (Iron Powder) not only resolves phlegm and calms the heart but is particularly effective in suppressing Liver pathogenic factors. If there is much anger, Liver pathogenic factors are too strong; Tiefen (Iron Powder) can subdue them. *Suwen* states: Yang-Jue mania is treated with Tie Luo Yin (Iron Filings Decoction), representing the metal controlling wood principle. This point was previously unmentioned by predecessors.
