牛黄散 治重舌。
牛黄（研） 人参 大黄（炒） 麝香（研） 炙甘草（各半两） 丹砂（研） 当归（切，焙。各二钱半） 白
茯苓（去皮，七钱半。）
上为细末，每服半钱，食后沸汤调下，甚者加至一钱。
矾石散 治风湿寒，舌强不能语。
枯矾 桂心（各等分）
上为末，每服一钱，安舌下。
甘露饮 治口舌生疮，牙宣心热。
枇杷叶 石斛 黄芩 麦门冬（去心） 生地黄 炙甘草（各等分）
上 咀，每服五钱，水二盏，煎八分，去滓，不拘时温服。
栝蒌根散 治风热，口中干燥，舌裂生疮。
栝蒌根 胡黄连 黄芩（各七钱半） 白僵蚕（炒） 白鲜皮 大黄（锉，炒。各半两） 牛黄（研）
滑石（研。各二钱半）
上为细末，研匀，每服二钱，不拘时，竹叶汤调服。
甘露丸 解壅毒，退风热。治口舌干燥。
寒水石（二斤，烧令赤，摊于地上一宿，出火毒） 马牙硝（三两，细研） 铅霜（细研） 龙脑（细研）
甘草（炙赤。各七钱半）
上为细末，研匀，以糯米饭和丸，如弹子大。每服半丸，食后用新汲水磨化服。
芦荟散 治口舌生疮。
芦荟 青蒿（研） 蟾酥 羊蹄花（各半两） 白矾（ 。研） 麝香（研） 牛黄（研。各一钱二分） 干
蜗牛（研，三枚） 瓜蒂（二十枚） 丁香 细辛（去苗） 丹砂（研。各二钱半） 马牙硝（研，七钱半） 熊胆
（研，一钱）
上为细末，研匀，先以头发裹指，于温水内蘸揩之，软帛挹却脓水，取少许药末掺
疮上。或轻可，即去蟾酥、芦荟，看病大小，以意加减用之。
玄参散 治口舌生疮，连齿龈烂痛。
玄参 升麻 独活 麦门冬（去心） 黄芩 黄柏 大黄（炒） 栀子仁 前胡 犀角 炙
甘草（各等分）
上为末，每服五钱，水一盏，煎五分，不拘时温服。
绿云散 治舌上生疮。
铜绿 铅白霜（各等分）
上同研极细，每用少许。掺舌上。

Wuxi Gao (Cinnabar and Rhinoceros Horn Paste) (See section on Throat Diseases).
Niuhuang San (Calculus Bovis Powder): Treats Chong She (Double Tongue, a condition characterized by swelling of the tongue resembling a double tongue).
Ingredients: Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang, 牛黄) (ground), Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen, 人参), Rheum Palmatum (Dahuang, 大黄) (stir-fried), Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) (ground), Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Gancao, 甘草) (honey-fried) (each 0.5 liang), Cinnabaris (Dansha, 丹砂) (ground), Angelica Sinensis (Danggui, 当归) (sliced, dried in oven) (each 2.5 qian), Poria cocos (Baifuling, 白茯苓) (peeled) (7.5 qian).
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 0.5 qian per dose, mixed with boiling water after meals. For severe cases, increase the dose to 1 qian.
Fanshi San (Alum Stone Powder): Treats tongue stiffness and inability to speak caused by Wind-Damp-Cold pathogenic factors.
Ingredients: Calcined Alum (Kufan, 枯矾), Cinnamon Twig (Guixin, 桂心) (equal parts).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder. Take 1 qian per dose, place under the tongue for sublingual administration.
Ganlu Yin (Sweet Dew Decoction): Treats mouth and tongue ulcers, bleeding gums, and Heart Heat.
Ingredients: Loquat Leaf (Pipaye, 枇杷叶), Dendrobium Nobile (Shihu, 石斛), Scutellaria Baicalensis (Huangqin, 黄芩), Ophiopogon Japonicus (Mendong, 麦门冬) (heart removed), Rehmannia Glutinosa (Shengdihuang, 生地黄), Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Gancao, 甘草) (honey-fried) (equal parts).
Preparation and Administration: Cut the herbs into small pieces. Take 5 qian per dose, add two cups of water, decoct until one-eighth remains, strain, and take warm at any time.
Gualougen San (Trichosanthes Root Powder): Treats dryness of the mouth and tongue cracking with ulcers caused by Wind-Heat.
Ingredients: Trichosanthes Root (Gualougen, 栝蒌根), Picrorhiza Scrophulariiflora (Huhuanglian, 胡黄连), Scutellaria Baicalensis (Huangqin, 黄芩) (each 7.5 qian), Bombyx Batryticatus (Baijiangcan, 白僵蚕) (stir-fried), Dictamnus Dasycarpus (Baixianpi, 白鲜皮), Rheum Palmatum (Dahuang, 大黄) (cut into pieces, stir-fried) (each 0.5 liang), Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang, 牛黄) (ground), Talcum (Huashi, 滑石) (ground) (each 2.5 qian).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into a fine powder and mix evenly. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with Bamboo Leaf Decoction, at any time.
Ganlu Wan (Sweet Dew Pill): Resolves toxicity from stagnation, dispels Wind-Heat. Treats dryness of the mouth and tongue.
Ingredients: Arsenolite (Hanhuishi, 寒水石) (2 jin, calcined until red-hot, spread on the ground overnight to remove fire toxicity), Sodium Sulfate (Mayaxiao, 马牙硝) (3 liang, finely ground), Lead Frost (Qianshuang, 铅霜) (finely ground), Borneolum Syntheticum (Longnao, 龙脑) (finely ground), Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Gancao, 甘草) (honey-fried until reddish) (each 7.5 qian).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into a fine powder and mix evenly. Mix with glutinous rice paste to form pills the size of a bullet. Take half a pill per dose, grind in fresh cold water after meals, and drink.
Lushui San (Aloe Vera Powder): Treats mouth and tongue ulcers.
Ingredients: Aloe (Lushui, 芦荟), Artemisia Annua (Qinghao, 青蒿) (ground), Toad Venom (Chansu, 蟾酥), Alchemilla Vulgaris (Yangtihua, 羊蹄花) (each 0.5 liang), White Alum (Baifan, 白矾) (calcined, ground), Moschus (Shexiang, 麝香) (ground), Calculus Bovis (Niuhuang, 牛黄) (ground) (each 1.2 qian), Dried Snail (Ganwoniú, 干蜗牛) (ground, 3 units), Cucumis Melo Seed (Gudi, 瓜蒂) (20 units), Clove (Dingxiang, 丁香), Asarum Europaeum (Xixin, 细辛) (roots removed), Cinnabaris (Dansha, 丹砂) (ground) (each 2.5 qian), Sodium Sulfate (Mayaxiao, 马牙硝) (ground, 7.5 qian), Bear Gallbladder (Xiongdan, 熊胆) (ground, 1 qian).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into a fine powder and mix evenly. First, wrap fingers with hair, dip in warm water, and wipe the lesion. Wipe away pus with a soft cloth. Apply a small amount of powder to the ulcer. If the condition is mild, omit Toad Venom and Aloe Vera; adjust dosage according to the patient's condition.
Xuanshen San (Scrophularia Root Powder): Treats mouth and tongue ulcers extending to swollen and painful gums.
Ingredients: Scrophularia Ningpoensis (Xuanshen, 玄参), Cimicifuga Foetida (Shengma, 升麻), Angelica Pubescens (Duhuo, 独活), Ophiopogon Japonicus (Mendong, 麦门冬) (heart removed), Scutellaria Baicalensis (Huangqin, 黄芩), Phellodendron Amurense (Huangbai, 黄柏), Rheum Palmatum (Dahuang, 大黄) (stir-fried), Gardenia Jasminoides (Zhizi, 栀子仁), Peucedanum Praeruptorum (Qianhu, 前胡), Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao, 犀角), Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Gancao, 甘草) (honey-fried) (equal parts).
Preparation and Administration: Grind into powder. Take 5 qian per dose, add one cup of water, decoct until one-fifth remains, and take warm at any time.
Lvyun San (Green Cloud Powder): Treats ulcers on the tongue.
Ingredients: Verdigris (Tonglü, 铜绿), Basic Lead Carbonate (Qianbaishuang, 铅白霜) (equal parts).
Preparation and Administration: Grind together until extremely fine. Apply a small amount directly to the tongue.
