圣书云∶不孝有三,无后为大。盖为人子者,以宗祧为大事。大凡年轻之人,精力强壮,原不难于生子。

The sage said: "Among the three unfilial acts, having no descendants is the greatest." As a child, one should regard the continuation of the ancestral lineage as a major affair. Generally speaking, young people with robust vitality and strong constitutions are not difficult to conceive children.
However, there is a fear that they may lack self-restraint, often resulting in conception followed by immediate miscarriage. For men and women with frail constitutions who struggle with infertility, if they reach beyond forty years of age without offspring, would it not cause anxiety? For those aged fifty or sixty, this need not be mentioned. If one desires offspring, listen to my words, act according to the method, for the power to determine the gender lies in one's own hands, and it is quite effective. How can one treat this as idle talk and thereby deprive oneself of descendants?
The method first involves accumulating virtue and preserving Yin, then assessing the male constitution. Generally, there are four pathological conditions leading to infertility. The first is Qi deficiency. During intercourse, one cannot maintain penetration for long; if penetration is insufficient, semen does not enter the uterus. If semen does not enter the uterus, from where can pregnancy arise? Moreover, abundant Qi generates essence, while deficient Qi leads to scanty essence. The second condition is thin semen. Blood deficiency results in thin semen; if it is thin and fails to coagulate, how can pregnancy form? The third condition is premature ejaculation (lack of retention). Suppose during intercourse, before entering the vagina, the semen is already ejaculated; or after entering, ejaculation occurs before several thrusts. The uterus has not yet opened to receive, the female arousal is just beginning, but the male excitement has ended. With what substance will the fetus be conceived? The fourth condition is cold semen. Since the semen is cold, upon introduction it will certainly not coagulate. In the union of Yin and Yang, the Yang essence must be hot, and the Yin cavity warm. When the ministerial fire of both individuals is vigorous, and their sexual intent unites in one place, through coupling and reception, the fetus naturally forms. Just as spring warmth causes all things to flourish, and winter cold causes all things to wither, this is the natural law of Heaven and Earth's Yin and Yang. Humans suffer from these four conditions, hence the difficulty in producing offspring. However, for these four conditions, I use only one formula with modifications to fully utilize its efficacy, unlike other books that list numerous methods for reproduction. Long-term consumption of my medicine will eliminate the disease and ensure the acquisition of children. Furthermore, women whose menstrual cycles are regular will conceive without fail. The only concern is if their constitution is frail and blood is not vigorous; in such cases, taking a younger wife creates the image of old Yang pairing with young Yin. Or, by taking medicine to cure the disease, once the disease is gone and menstruation is regulated, even if auspicious timing is lacking, I still use one modified formula to maximize its effect. Among those who marry but do not have children, it is always due to the man's insufficiency, not the woman's fault. If both man and woman are free from disease, why do they not conceive immediately? It is because they do not know the method of sowing seeds. Now, I summarize the following points; please study them carefully, and you will surely have many children.
