Auxiliary Explanation of Lying Postures: When practicing sleep meditation, one need not adhere to a fixed posture, such as facing north with the head and west with the face, one leg bent and the other extended, using the flexed arm as a pillow. All methods generally require bowing the body and bending the knees, keeping the teeth tightly closed, elevating the "Magpie Bridge" (referring to touching the tongue to the roof of the mouth), closing the eyes to gather vision, turning the gaze inward for self-observation, focusing the spirit, regulating respiration to stabilize qi, descending qi upon inhalation and ascending it upon exhalation, excluding all worldly distractions, and dedicating the mind completely. One should enter a state of chaotic confusion, free from dreams and fright, so that the "River Cart" (referring to the ascent of internal energy along the Du Meridian) can move, allowing communication between the Du (Governing Vessel) and Ren (Conception Vessel), achieving the mutual completion of Kan and Li (Heart and Kidney interaction), and generating Yin and Yang. During the four hours of Hai, Zi, Chou, and Yin, rest is most suitable. By ascending and descending clear and turbid energies, the Heart and Kidney interact, and all meridians converge. If one does not sleep during these four hours, the essence from food and drink cannot transform into fluids and ascend to the crown, penetrating the whole body; even sleeping soundly all day, lying in bed yields no benefit. Heaven's Qi descends, Earth's Qi ascends, the sun and moon cycle, and the interaction of Yin and Yang occurs precisely during these four hours. Practitioners must not miss this opportunity; this constitutes the Small Heavenly Circuit (Xiao Zhou Tian). Regarding the Sleep Method Diagrams, there are ten postures. Choosing any one to sleep in allows for the rotation of the wheel (referring to internal energy circulation). One must strictly avoid lying supine like a corpse or prone on the ground. Additionally, Buddhist sleep techniques include rubbing the navel and abdomen, stretching and rubbing the testicles, and massaging the lower body. These are suitable for practice immediately upon waking. When intending to sleep, only the lying posture diagrams should be adopted. One must absolutely avoid moving the navel, abdomen, testicles, or lower body, lest the cultivation level be insufficient and lead to "Zou Dan" (loss of vital essence) after falling asleep.

Auxiliary Instructions for Practice:
When sleeping, clothes should be loosened, and belts relaxed. The bed should be flat, and the blanket should not cover the head. The pillow should not be too high nor too low; the head should align with the middle of the shoulders. Hands should not embrace the head, nor be placed in bone crevices, which would obstruct the airway. The hips should be slightly open so that the scrotum and penis are not compressed. This constitutes the correct method.
