(Yu Jiayan's "Medical Laws of the Gate") Treats all conditions resulting from excessive blood loss, where the body is emaciated and limbs are wasted, food intake is poor, and the intestines and stomach suffer from slippery diarrhea. Long-term use generates blood, benefits qi, warms the stomach, and preserves youthfulness.
Precise Lamb Meat (7 jin, remove fascia, fat, and skin, split open to insert subsequent herbs)
Danggui (12 liang, washed with wine)
Fresh Dioscoreae Rhizoma (Shanyao) (10 liang, peeled)
Cistanche Deserticola (Roucongrong) (10 liang, boiled in non-ashy wine until soft, then pounded into pills; add Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma [Renshen] and Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma [Baizhu] powder).
Tianzhen Wan uses Asparagi Radix [Tianmendong], Danggui, Shanyao, and Roucongrong, ground into fine powder, placed inside the lamb meat, boiled in non-ashy wine until soft and mashable. When forming pills, add Renshen and Baizhu.
In this formula, the herbs and lamb meat nourish essence and blood; Roucongrong warms the yang qi in the Kidney, guiding essence and qi back to their root; Tianmendong protects the yin qi in the Lung, ensuring the source remains clear and descending. I have examined ancient formulas: among warming and drying medicines, one must necessarily combine them with methods that nourish yin and protect the lungs, fearing that without this, one might fail to achieve the benefit of tonifying yang while first injuring the lung's yin qi. Yu Jiayan strongly praised this formula, demonstrating his expertise in using tonification; its preparation method is particularly exquisite, making it a premier tonic formula.
(Chen Zhi's "Book of Care for the Elderly") Tonifies weakness, strengthens sinews and bones; very suitable for the elderly to take regularly.
Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen) (2 liang)
Astragali Membranacei Radix [Huangqi] (1 liang, raw)
Poria [Fuling] (1 liang)
Jujubae Fructus [Dazao] (5 pieces)
Lamb Meat (2 jin, remove fat and skin, take 4 liang of precise meat, cut finely; the remainder... just before completion, add precise lamb...)
Yangrou Zhou (Lamb Meat Porridge) originates from the "Elderly Care Book," consisting of Renshen, Fuling, Dazao, and Oryzae Fructus Glutinosus [Jingmi]. It tonifies weakness, supports yang qi, and strengthens sinews and bones. ("Ten Categories" states: "Tonification can remove weakness; substances like Renshen and lamb meat belong here.") Regular consumption in old age ensures safety without worry. (This is an ancient dietary regimen formula, preserved here as an aid for elderly care.)
Treats Pi Shui (Skin Water), characterized by a floating pulse, edema on the dorsum of the four limbs that leaves an indentation upon pressure, aversion to wind is absent, abdominal distension like a drum, no thirst, and water qi trembling within the skin.
