Yangyin Qingzao Decoction: Treats Yin deficiency of the Lung and Kidney, onset caused by dryness pathogen, with symptoms such as sore throat, white putrid matter, stranglehold wind (Tianhou), as well as white sores on the mouth and tongue, oral thrush, lip sores, etc. Although this prescription is plain and unremarkable, its efficacy is swift and miraculous; it is indeed a bridge for the treatment of throat diseases. Laozi said: "The inferior scholar hears the Great Way and laughs at it; if they did not laugh, it would not be the Way." Similarly, hearing this prescription, one may laugh; if they do not laugh, it would not be considered a proper prescription.

Treatment principles generally revolve around acrid-cool, nourishing Yin, clearing, and moistening. If slightly combined with exterior-dispersing methods, not only will it be ineffective, but it may also exacerbate the condition. There are also cases where acrid-cool is unsuitable from the onset, requiring nourishment of Yin instead. Such flexible adaptations depend on the practitioner's judgment and cannot be determined by rigid rules.
