The disease originates from Wind-Cold invasion and is exacerbated by improper diet. The *Jin Gui Yao Lue* states: "When Wind-Cold pathogens contend with each other, dizziness occurs immediately after eating; the Qi of grain fails to digest, causing the Stomach to suffer from turbid Qi accumulation. This turbid Qi flows downward, leading to urinary obstruction. The Yin aspect is affected by Cold, while Heat flows into the Bladder, resulting in generalized jaundice. This condition is named Grain Jaundice (Gu Dan)." It further states: "Grain Jaundice presents with alternating chills and fever, anorexia, dizziness upon eating, discomfort in the chest and heart region, and eventual yellowing of the body over time. This is Grain Jaundice, which should be treated primarily with Yinchen Hao Tang."
Yinchen Hao Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Rhubarb Decoction, specifically the larger formula mentioned earlier): This is a formula for purging heat from the Lower Jiao. It is suitable for patients with excess constitution and constipation; it should not be used otherwise.
Fuling Yinchen Zhizi Tang (Poria, Yin Chen, and Gardenia Decoction) [Source: *Yixue Faming*]: Treats Grain Jaundice characterized by epigastric fullness and oppression, fatigue and heaviness in the four limbs, yellowing of both the body and eyes, mental restlessness and irritability, nausea and urge to vomit, slow digestion of food, and dysuria with heat sensation.
Ingredients: Yin Chen (Artemisiae Scopariae Herba, 1 qian), Fuling (Poria, 5 fen), Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus), Cangzhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma, peeled and stir-fried), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, each 3 qian), Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus), Zhuling (Polyporus), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Fangji (Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, each 2 fen), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix, 6 fen), Qingpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride, 1 fen).
Usage: Decoct with long-flowing water, strain, and take warm on an empty stomach.
Analysis: Zhizi and Yin Chen purge damp-heat and resolve jaundice; Huanglian and Zhike purge epigastric fullness; Heat can injure Qi, so Huangqin is used to address this; Damp-heat stagnating in the Stomach is removed by Cangzhu, Baizhu, and Qingpi; Damp-heat flowing into the meridians and Bladder is drained by Fuling, Zhuling, and Fangji.
Danfan Wan (Chalcanthite Pill) [Source: *Benshi Fang*]: Treats men and women suffering from post-prandial fatigue, sallow complexion with puffy swelling, and mass-like accumulations (Pi Ji).

Xu Shuwei stated: Zhao Yancai, a member of the imperial clan, suffered from hematochezia, a waxen sallow complexion, and inability to eat. This was caused by alcohol-induced pathology. He was given this prescription. After completing the course, the bleeding stopped, his complexion became fresh and lustrous, and his appetite returned to normal.
