Water qi moves upward due to agitation by wind pathogen. The pulse is floating and surging, with symptoms of bone and joint pain, aversion to wind, and edema of the face, eyes, and four limbs. Treatment should primarily focus on dispelling wind; once the wind is eliminated, the water will naturally descend.

Add seven sheng of water, first decoct Mahuang and remove the foam on the surface, then add the remaining herbs and decoct until two and a half sheng remain. Take warm, eight fen per dose, three times daily. (This formula is used for Fengshui syndrome complicated by cold.)

Dry Elsholtziae Herba (Xiangru, 香薷) (50 jin).
Finely chop, place in a pot, cover with water several inches above the herb, decoct until the aroma is exhausted, filter the dregs and clarify the liquid, then slowly reduce over low heat until it can be formed into pills. Make pills the size of wu zi (Cocculus trilobus seeds). Take 50 pills per dose, three times daily. The dosage may be slightly increased, stopping when urination becomes smooth. Wujiapi San (Acanthopanacis Cortex Powder, from *Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang*)
Acanthopanacis Cortex (Wujiapi, 五加皮), Lycii Cortex (Digupi, 地骨皮), Zingiberis Pericarpium (Shengjiangpi, 生姜皮), Arecae Pericarpium (Dafupi, 大腹皮), Poria (Fulingpi, 茯苓皮).
The above three formulas all employ bitter, acrid, and bland methods to promote diuresis. Li Dongyuan stated: For Fengshui syndrome, one should use acrid flavors to disperse it, bitter flavors to purge it, and bland flavors to leach out dampness, thereby dispersing dampness from both upper and lower jiao.
This condition arises from lung qi obstruction. Since the Lung governs all qi and regulates water passages, lung obstruction prevents water from descending, causing it to overflow into the skin. The presentation resembles Fengshui, but differs by the absence of aversion to wind.
