1. A woman suffering from Wind-stroke (Taiyang disease caused by wind pathogen) develops intermittent chills and fever after seven or eight days, occurring at regular intervals, while her menses happen to cease. This is Heat entering the Blood Chamber (uterus and Liver meridian), causing blood coagulation; thus, symptoms resemble malaria with regular paroxysms. Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) is the primary treatment. (Formula see in Vomiting section.)
2. A woman suffering from Cold damage (Shanghan) with fever, whose menses happen to begin, is clear-minded during the day but becomes delirious at dusk, hallucinating as if seeing ghosts. This is Heat entering the Blood Chamber. Treatment should not injure the Stomach Qi or the Upper and Middle Jiao; the condition will resolve spontaneously.
3. A woman suffering from Wind-stroke presents with fever and aversion to cold, and her menses happen to begin. After seven or eight days, the fever subsides, the pulse becomes slow, and the body feels cool and harmonious, yet she experiences fullness and distension in the chest and hypochondrium resembling Jie Xiong syndrome (chest binding syndrome), accompanied by delirium. This is Heat entering the Blood Chamber. One should puncture Qi Men (LR-14) and apply reducing methods according to the excess pattern.
4. In Yangming disease, vaginal bleeding accompanied by delirium indicates Heat entering the Blood Chamber. If only the head sweats, one should puncture Qi Men (LR-14) and apply reducing methods to drain excess. Recovery occurs when a generalized mild sweat appears.
5. A woman feels as if there were a roasted meat piece obstructing her throat. Ban Xia Hou Po Tang (Pinellia and Magnolia Bark Decoction) is the primary treatment.
Ban Xia Hou Po Tang Formula (Recorded in *Qian Jin Fang* as chest oppression, hardness below the heart, and a sensation of a stuck roasted meat piece in the throat that cannot be spat out or swallowed.)

These three ingredients are decocted in 6 sheng of water to obtain 3 sheng. Divide into three warm doses. This formula also tonifies Spleen Qi.
7. A woman vomits saliva and froth. The physician erroneously applies purgation, resulting in epigastric stuffiness (Pi syndrome). One must first treat the vomiting of saliva and froth using Xiao Qing Long Tang (Minor Green Dragon Decoction). Once the discharge stops, treat the epigastric stuffiness using Xie Xin Tang (Drain the Epigastrium Decoction).
Xiao Qing Long Tang Formula (See in Lung Abscess section.)
Xie Xin Tang Formula (See in Palpitations section.)
8. Women's diseases arise from deficiency, accumulated cold, and qi stagnation, leading to the cessation of menstruation, sometimes lasting for years. Cold blood accumulates and binds, injuring the uterine gate with cold, causing meridians to become congealed and firm.
If the pathology is upper, it manifests as vomiting saliva and froth, which over time may develop into Lung Abscess; the body deteriorates.
If the pathology is middle, it knots around the umbilicus causing Han Shan (Cold Colic); or causes pain in both hypochondria connected to the viscera; or creates heat accumulation in the center, causing pain at Guan Yuan (CV-4), with a rapid pulse but no ulceration, and skin resembling fish scales. This condition affects men as well, not just women.
If the pathology is lower, menstrual flow is scanty and irregular, causing pulling pain in the yin region and aversion to cold in the lower abdomen; or pain radiating to the lumbar spine, down to the Qi Chong point, with urgent pain at Qi Chong (ST-30) and painful restlessness in the knees and shins; sudden dizziness and vertigo resembling Jue syndrome or Dian syndrome; or melancholy, sadness, and irritability. All these belong to Dai Xia (Leukorrhea/Gynecological disorders), not demonic influence.
Over time, emaciation occurs, and the pulse is deficient and cold. The thirty-six gynecological diseases change endlessly. One must examine the pulse for Yin/Yang, deficiency/excess, tightness, and wiriness, applying acupuncture and herbs to transform danger into safety. Although diseases may appear similar, their pulse origins differ. Students must distinguish and remember them; do not say otherwise.
9. Question: A woman around fifty years old suffers from diarrhea persisting for dozens of days, evening fever, urgency and fullness in the lower abdomen, hot palms, and dry lips and mouth. What is the cause?

Cold and deficiency intertwining is named Ge Pulse (Leather Pulse). In women, this leads to spontaneous abortion or continuous dripping bleeding. Xuan Fu Hua Tang (Inula Flower Decoction) is the primary treatment.
Xuan Fu Hua Tang Formula
Xuan Fu Hua (Inulae Flos, 3 liang) Cong Bai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus, 14 stems) Xin Jiang (Safflower/Sappan wood essence, a little)

Master says: This is called Zhuan Bao (Displaced Bladder), causing urinary retention because the bladder ligament is twisted. Promoting urination will cure it. Shen Qi Wan (Kidney Qi Pill) is appropriate.
