There are forty-five acupoints where moxibustion is prohibited, including Chengguang (BL3), Yamen (GV15), and Fengfu (GV16); Tianzhu (BL10), Suliao (DU26), Zulinqi (GB41), and Shangxing (GV23); Jingming (BL1), Cuanzhu (BL2), and Yingxiang (LI20); Heliao (LI19), Quanliao (SI18), and Sizhukong (TE23); Jingqu (LU8), Tianfu (LU3), and Zhongchong (PC9); Yangguan (EX-B7), Yangchi (TE4), and Diwuhui (EX-LE6); Yinbai (SP1), Lougu (SP9), and Yinlingquan (SP9); Tiaokou (ST38), Dubi (ST35), and Yinshi (ST32); Futu (ST32), Biguan (ST31), and Weizhong (BL40); Yinmen (BL37), Shenmai (BL62), and Chengfu (BL36). These acupoints are taboo for moxibustion.

When performing acupuncture, one must be clear about the "Blood Taboo" days: in the first month, it is Chou hour; in the second month, Yin hour; in the third month, Wei hour; in the fourth month, Shen hour; in the fifth month, Mao hour; in the sixth month, You hour; in the seventh month, Chen hour; in the eighth month, Xu hour; in the ninth month, Si hour; in the tenth month, Hai hour; in the eleventh month, Wu hour is proper; and in the twelfth month, one must additionally avoid the "Day Closure."

On the 1st, 11th, and 21st days, the contraindicated areas are the big toe of the foot, the nasal bridge, and the little finger of the hand. On the 12th, 22nd, and 22nd days, they are the outer ankle, hairline, and outer ankle position. On the 3rd, 13th, and 23rd days, [text implies continuation or specific location not fully explicit in source snippet, translated literally as per structure]; on the 6th, 16th, and 26th days, they are the same; the palm, chest front, and chest are also contraindicated. On the 7th, 17th, and 27th days, they are the inner ankle, Qichong (ST30), and the knee. On the 8th, 18th, and 28th days, they are inside the wrist, inside the thigh, and the yin region. On the 9th, 19th, and 29th days, they are the sacrum, knee, and posterior lower leg. On the 10th, 20th, and 30th days, look for them in the waist, back, inner ankle, and dorsum of the foot.

The location of the Koushen (Sacral Spirit) is derived from the heel. Kun palace corresponds to the inner and outer ankles, a rule left by sages; Zhen palace corresponds clearly to the teeth; Xun palace resides at the nipple tip; the Central Palace connects the shoulder bone and sacrum bone; the face, eyes, mouth, and back come from the upstream of Qian palace; the arm belongs to Dui palace, making it difficult to apply Bian stone and moxibustion; Gen palace's waist and neck areas must also cease needling; Li palace's knees and ribs are hard to needle; Kan palace connects the elbow and seeks the abdominal pulse. If physicians thoroughly understand the method of Koushen, they will have no worries about violating taboos in treating myriad diseases.

This method was established by Shennong. It starts in Kun palace in the first year, Zhen palace in the second year, flying sequentially through the Nine Palaces each year, cycling repeatedly. Wherever the traveling year arrives, that is the "decayed body" area, strictly avoiding acupuncture and moxibustion. If mistakenly violated, severe cases result in death, while mild cases develop sores and carbuncles.

At Lichun (Start of Spring), Tianliu begins in Gen palace; seek the left foot on Wuyin and Jichou days. At Chunfen (Spring Equinox), Cangmen on the left hypochondrium belongs to Zhen palace; seeing it on Yimao day marks it as an enemy. At Lixia (Start of Summer), Wuchen and Jisi days belong to Xun palace. At Qiufen (Autumn Equinox), Cangguo is in the West Dui palace; calculate from the right hypochondrium on Xinyou day. At Lidong (Start of Winter), Xinluo is added to the left foot; Wuxu and Jihai days conclude in Qian position. At Dongzhi (Winter Solstice), Kan direction approaches Yezhe; on Renzi day, flow occurs in the waist, sacrum, and lower orifices. The five zang organs, six fu organs, and umbilical abdomen: Zhaoyao star with Wu and Ji earth resides in the Central State. When treating ulcers and carbuncles, one must avoid these times; violating these Heavenly Taboos makes the disease difficult to cure.
