[Diagram of Essential Acupoints] (Image placeholder: G-G87.bmp)
The specific methods for acupoints are not detailed in this book; refer to the *Zhen Juan* (Needle Scroll) for verification, where they are recorded in great detail.
Children's diseases generally do not involve disturbances by the Seven Emotions (joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear, fright). The pathology lies either in the Liver Meridian (the meridian governing dispersion and storing blood) or in the Spleen Meridian (the meridian governing transportation and transformation and controlling blood); if not in the Spleen Meridian, then in the Liver Meridian. The disease mostly concentrates on the Liver and Spleen organs; this is a key principle. Ji Jing Feng (Acute Convulsion, a heat syndrome) belongs to excessive Wood energy of the Liver, representing a condition of excess Wind pathogen. Treatment should favor cool, bitter, and cold substances to drain Qi and resolve phlegm. Symptoms include: being startled upon hearing the sound of wood; or encountering the roar of poultry, beasts, donkeys, or horses, leading to a cyan complexion and locked jaw; or hoarseness, crying, followed by syncope. After an attack, the complexion returns to normal, but it recurs after a long while. The body is hot, the face is red, breath from the mouth and nose feels hot, stool is reddish-yellow, the child is alert but cannot sleep. This is because excessive heat generates phlegm, and excessive phlegm generates wind, occasionally triggered by fright. Internally administer agents that calm fright and clear phlegm; externally apply pinching, rubbing, and pressing acupoint techniques. There is no reason why it would not heal. As for Man Jing Feng (Chronic Convulsion, a deficiency-cold syndrome), it belongs to a condition of insufficient Middle Qi within Earth energy of the Spleen. Treatment should be balanced and moderate, using sweet-warm agents to tonify the middle. Symptoms often arise from irregular diet damaging the Spleen and Stomach; due to prolonged diarrhea, Middle Qi becomes extremely deficient, leading to convulsions. The convulsions have no cessation, the body is cold, the face is sallow, there is no thirst, breath from the mouth and nose feels cold, urine and stool are greenish-white, the child sleeps deeply with eyes half-open showing the whites, eyes roll upward, limbs twitch, and sinews and vessels are contracted. This is because Spleen deficiency generates wind, and excessive wind causes sinew urgency. Commonly known as "Tian Diao Feng" (Heaven-Hanging Wind), this refers to this symptom complex. Treatment should primarily tonify the middle, still combining pinching, rubbing, and pressing acupoint techniques, applied carefully, ensuring complete recovery. For those with vomiting and diarrhea that have not yet developed into chronic convulsion, urgently use agents that invigorate the Spleen and nourish the Stomach. Externally, use manual techniques to press and pinch corresponding meridian acupoints. If meridians and collaterals harmonize, it will prevent transformation into chronic convulsion. If other symptoms exist, acupoint methods are detailed below for selection at the time.
If the Heart Meridian has heat generating phlegm confusing the mind, push Tian He Shui (River Water) passing through Hong Chi (Great Pool). If the Liver Meridian has disease causing much depression in children, push and spread Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) and the disease is removed. If the Spleen Meridian has disease causing poor appetite, push and spread Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) and efficacy is certain. If the Lung Meridian is affected by wind causing much cough, massage the Lung Meridian extensively. If the Kidney Meridian has disease causing astringent urination, push and spread Shen Shui (Kidney Water) to save immediately. If the Small Intestine has disease with attacking Qi, push Ban Men (Gate Board) and Heng Men (Horizontal Gate) to unblock. Memorize this Jing Ning Xue (Jingning Point); for critical conditions, improvement is fast as wind. If the Gallbladder Meridian has disease causing bitter taste, apply the wonderful method of pushing Pi Tu (Spleen Earth). If the Large Intestine has disease causing much diarrhea, rub and摩 (rub) Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) and Da Chang (Large Intestine) extensively. If the Bladder has disease causing strangury, push Shen Shui (Kidney Water), operate Ba Gua (Eight Trigrams), and pass Tian He Shui (River Water). If the Stomach Meridian has disease causing much vomiting and reflux, push Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) and Fei Jing (Lung Meridian) to harmonize. If the San Jiao (Triple Burner) has disease with alternating chills and fever, pass Tian He Shui (River Water) without delay. If Ming Men (Gate of Life) has disease with depleted Yuan Qi, push on Pi (Spleen), Da Chang (Large Intestine), and operate Ba Gua (Eight Trigrams). The Immortal Master taught me this true secret formula, wishing to cultivate the infant's lifespan.
The sources of disease in the Five Zang and Six Fu organs must rely on manual pushing for cure. The following numbers must not be confused: For Lung Meridian disease, pinch the edge of the Lung Meridian. For Heart Meridian disease, pinch Tian He Shui (River Water); for draining, pinch Da Chang (Large Intestine) and Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) completely. For vomiting, pinch Fei Jing (Lung Meridian) and push San Guan (Three Passes); for dim vision, pinch Shen Shui (Kidney Water) to supplement. Again, [push] Heng Wen (Transverse Crease) dozens of times, combined with Tian He Shui (River Water) for complete efficacy. For headache, push Qu San Guan (Take Three Passes); again pinch Heng Wen (Transverse Crease) connected to Tian He Shui (River Water). Rub Tian Xin (Heavenly Heart) several times; its effect appears in a moment. For toothache, knead Shen Shui (Kidney Water); push Jia Che (Cheek Corner) for natural relief. For nasal congestion from wind, use Tian Xin (Heavenly Heart); Zong Jin (Total Tendon) and Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) pushed 700 times. Deafness is often due to depletion of Shen Shui (Kidney Water); pinch Qu Shen Shui (Take Kidney Water) and Tian He Shui (River Water). Yang Chi (Yang Pool) performs 900 merits; afterwards pinch the side below the earlobe. Frequent coughing from wind-cold requires sweating until hands are moist first; then pinch inside the transverse crease of the Lung Meridian; operate Gan Wei (Dry Position) in a circle. For heat in the Heart Meridian, operate Tian He Shui (River Water); for heat in the Six Fu organs, push their respective meridians. For poor intake, push Pi Tu (Spleen Earth); for scanty urine, pinch Shen Jing (Kidney Meridian) more. For diarrhea from the Large Intestine, operate Duo Yi (Much Shift); Da Chang (Large Intestine) and Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) diseases are removed. Then take Tian Men (Heavenly Gate) entering Hu Kou (Tiger's Mouth); knead Qi Zhong (Umbilicus) and Gui Wei (Turtle Tail) 700 times for wonder. Abdominal pain is often caused by cold Qi attacking; push San Guan (Three Passes) and operate Heng Wen (Transverse Crease) much; knead Qi Zhong (Umbilicus) dozens of times; Tian Men (Heavenly Gate) and Hu Kou (Tiger's Mouth) methods are the same. To eliminate fire-eye, push San Guan (Three Passes), connecting 120 counts; retreat Liu Fu (Six Fu) 400 times; then push Shen Shui (Kidney Water) 400 times to finish; combine taking Tian He Shui (River Water) 500 times; finally tonify Pi Tu (Spleen Earth) 100 times to complete. Oral transmission and written notes of pushing and rubbing formulas are given to the world for careful contemplation.
