Zanzhu (BL2) and Sikong (an extra point, likely referring to a specific local point or typo for another point like Taiyang or similar, but kept as Sikong per text) govern headache; both lateral and frontal headaches are suitable for needling these points. Additionally, apply reducing method at Dadu (SP3) to eliminate pathogenic agitation, and needle Fengchi (GB20) to a depth of 0.3 cun; first apply reducing method at Quchi (LI11) and Hegu (LI4), which can permanently remove disease and prevent invasion. Following these points for needling ensures efficacy, guaranteeing immediate relief.
For head wind, headache, and toothache, seek Hegu (LI4) and Sanjian (LI3). For eye pain, needle Dadu (SP3); for treatment, needle Taiyuan (LU9). For toothache, needle Lvxi (i.e., Taixi KI3) to a depth of 0.3 cun; for tooth pain, follow the previously indicated points. Further deduce from Dadu (SP3), applying left-right cross-needling methods, and carefully explore the principles.
Combine Tinghui (GB2) with Tinggong (SI19); needle to a depth of 0.7 cun and apply reducing method for deafness in the ears. Needle Ermen (TE21) with reducing method to a depth of approximately 0.3 cun, and additionally moxa Tinggong (SI19) for seven moxibustion cones. Apply reducing method within the Large Intestine meridian, needle Quchi (LI11) and Hegu (LI4) to a depth of 0.7 cun. If the physician understands this principle, efficacy will be seen immediately upon needling.
For shoulder, back, and shoulder joint pain, needle Quchi (LI11) and Hegu (LI4) to a depth of 0.7 cun. If not cured, add Cize (LU5) to a depth of one cun, then proceed to Sanjian (LI3). Insert each needle to a depth of 0.7 cun; needle Shaohai (HT3) and Fengfu (GV16) [Note: Text mentions "Shaohao, Feng two fu piercing Heart Meridian", likely implying connection to Heart channel or specific technique] to treat the Heart meridian related issues. Depth follows regulations, curing the disease and alleviating symptoms at once.
From the throat down to the umbilicus, diseases in the epigastrium are critical. When heart qi pain occurs, the chest feels knotted and hard; in cold damage with vomiting, hiccuping, and stifling sensation with saliva, needle Lieque (LU7) to a depth of 0.3 cun, and reduce Fengchi (GB20) by 0.3 cun. Use Erzhi Sanjian (Sanjian LI3) and Zusanli (ST36), and prick Zhongchong (PC9) to a depth of 0.5 cun following the previous method.
For difficulty in sweating, needle Wanggu (SI4) to a depth of 0.5 cun and apply reducing method. Yujì (LU10), Jingqu (LU8), and Tongli (HT5) should be reduced by 0.1 cun to induce profuse sweating. Use Erzhi Sanjian (Sanjian LI3) and Zusanli (ST36), and prick the thumb points [likely Dazhui or Jingming/Shaoshang depending on context, but text says 'Da zhi'] to a depth of 0.5 cun. If sweat spreads throughout the body, one who understands this is a good physician.
When limbs are weak due to evil wind, eyes are dry and difficult to open, attacked by hundred diseases, spirit is dull and fatigued with little speech, use Fengchi (GB20) and Hegu (LI4) to unblock with needling. Apply reducing method to Sanjian (LI3) in both hands subsequently, combined with Zusanli (ST36) and Taichong (LR3), inserting needles five fen deep into the acupoints. Correct Ying-Sui [following/following against] tonification and reduction techniques yield miraculous effects.
Fengchi [Text implies general area or specific points between fingers/toes, but Fengchi is neck]... Right hemiplegia is called Tan, Left hemiplegia is called Can [Note: Text seems to have swapped or specific definition]. Prick each to a depth of 0.5 cun and apply reducing method subsequently, plus moxa seven cones for bodily peace. Perform Qi-reducing method at Zusanli (ST36) and Yinjiao (RN7), measuring one cun three fen according to the disease. Add thirty-seven moxa cones to each point, naturally restoring paralysis instantly.
For elbow pain, needle Quchi (LI11); Jingqu (LU8) and Hegu (LI4) are also suitable. Needle these two points to a depth of 0.5 cun, and malaria afflicting the body will depart. If not cured, add Sanjian (LI3) to a depth of 0.5 cun without worry. If accompanied by Qi pain, aversion to cold, and fever, do not delay needling Jianshi (PC5).
For leg, hip, and lower back pain attacking with Pi-Qi [mass accumulation], exhaust the Huagu (GB30) point with 0.7 cun insertion. Further needle Fengshi (GB31) and Zusanli (ST36), using one cun three fen for both tonification and reduction. Reduce Yinjiao (RN7) by one cun, and still prick Xingjian (LR2) to a depth of 0.5 cun. Advance and retreat gently according to respiration; removing disease takes but a finger's snap.
When elbows and knees hurt, needle Quchi (LI11); inserting one cun is appropriate. Treat left disease by needling right, and right disease by needling left; following this method, reducing Qi by three fen is miraculous. For knee pain, needle Dubi (ST35) to a depth of two cun; Zusanli (ST36) and Yinjiao (RN7) require seven treatments. If you carefully seek the principle, the power to rob the disease lies in a moment.
