[51] Lower limb flaccidity and inability to walk: Qiuxu (GB40), Xingjian (LR2), Kunlun (BL60), Taichong (LR3).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to sexual intercourse after intoxication, leading to deficiency of the Kidney Meridian, resulting in weak lower limbs and ultimately the inability to walk. If previous treatments were ineffective, needle the following acupoints: Zusanli (ST36), Yangfu (GB38), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Fuliou (KI7).
[52] Weakness and lack of strength in the feet: Gongsun (SP4), Zusanli (ST36), Xuangu (GB39), Shenmai (BL62).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to dampness invading the meridians, with blood and qi clashing; or due to excessive sexual activity depleting vitality; or due to long-distance walking damaging sinews and bones, leading to this disease. Needle the following acupoints: Kunlun (BL60), Yangfu (GB38).
[53] Red and swollen Hong Kong foot (tinea pedis) with sores: Zhaohai (KI6), Kunlun (BL60), Jinggu (BL64), Weizhong (BL40).
Q: Why did the previous acupoints fail to cure it?
A: Because blood and qi are凝滞 (stagnant) and not dispersing, and cold and heat pathogens remain untreated for a long time, evolving into this disease. Needle the following acupoints: Zusanli (ST36), Sanyinjiao (SP6).
[54] Red swelling and pain on the dorsum of the foot: Taichong (LR3), Zulinqi (GB41), Xingjian (LR2), Neiting (ST44).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to excessive labor followed by washing with hot water, causing stagnation of blood and qi, leading to red swelling and pain. Acupuncture is suitable, but moxibustion is not. Qiuxu (GB40), Kunlun (BL60).
[55] Grass-shoe wind (heel pain): Zhaohai (KI6), Qiuxu (GB40), Shangqiu (SP5), Kunlun (BL60).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to excessive labor causing dampness to stagnate and become cold; or walking in extreme heat and then soaking feet in cold water, forming this condition. Needle the following acupoints: Taichong (LR3), Jiexi (ST41).
[56] Wind-pain preventing turning of the body and difficulty in taking steps: Huantiao (GB30), Fengshi (GB31), Kunlun (BL60), Juliao (GB29), Zusanli (ST36), Yanglingquan (GB34).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to excessive sexual intercourse, sleeping on cold and damp ground, with pathogens flowing into the meridians; or due to sprains causing lower back pain and difficulty in movement. If the previous acupoints are ineffective, needle the following: Wushu (GB27), Yangfu (GB38), Zhigou (TE6).
[57] Pain in the waist and legs: Weizhong (BL40), Renzhong (GV26).

[60] Waist and hypochondriac pain due to sprain: Chize (LU5), Weizhong (BL40), Renzhong (GV26).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to excessive sexual intercourse damaging the Kidney Meridian, depletion of essence and blood, leading to Kidney-deficiency lower back pain; combined with carrying heavy loads and traveling far, causing chaotic blood and qi, and hot blood failing to return to its origin, resulting in lower back pain. Or due to other factors where qi attacks both hypochondria causing pain, hence this symptom. Needle the following acupoints: Kunlun (BL60), Shugu (BL65), Zhigou (TE6).
[61] Generalized edema with sores: Quchi (LI11), Hegu (LI4), Zusanli (ST36), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Xingjian (LR2), Neiting (ST44).
Q: How is this condition contracted?

[62] Edema of the four limbs: Zhongdu (LR6), Hegu (LI4), Quchi (LI11), Zhongzhu (TE3), Yemen (TE2).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to hunger and cold, with pathogenic factors entering the meridians, excessive drinking of water flowing into the four limbs. Or due to excessive alcohol consumption without avoiding wind and cold, leading to this condition. Needle the following acupoints: Xingjian (LR2), Neiting (ST44), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Yinlingquan (SP9).
[63] Single Gu distension (unilateral abdominal swelling): Qihai (CV6), Xingjian (LR2), Zusanli (ST36), Neiting (ST44), Shuifen (CV9), Shiguan (EX-LE1).
[64] Double Gu distension (bilateral abdominal swelling): Zhigou (TE6), Hegu (LI4), Quchi (LI11), Shuifen (CV9).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to excessive alcohol and sexual activity, internally damaging the zang-fu organs, blocking blood and qi, thus forming Gu distension. Undigested food, phlegm accumulation, generalized edema with fluid retention, difficult urination, stagnant blood and qi leading to limb edema; insufficient Stomach qi, unregulated alcohol and sex leading to single Gu distension. Failure of Kidney water, lack of interaction between fire and water leading to double Gu distension. This condition is difficult to treat; the physician must analyze it carefully. Zusanli (ST36), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Xingjian (LR2), Neiting (ST44).
[65] Urinary retention: Yinlingquan (SP9), Qihai (CV6), Sanyinjiao (SP6).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to pathogenic qi in the Bladder, with heat not dissipating. Or due to excessive labor, anger injuring the bladder, causing qi closure in the orifices; or urinary retention in women (Zhuanbao), all presenting this symptom. Needle the following acupoints: Yinggu (KI10), Daling (PC7).
[66] Frequent and slippery urination: Zhongji (CV3), Shenshu (BL23), Yinlingquan (SP9).
Q: What is this condition?
A: This is Cold affecting the Bladder, slippery and rapid pulse in the Kidney Meridian, cold pain in urination, frequent dribbling. Needle the following acupoints: Sanyinjiao (SP6), Qihai (CV6).
[67] Constipation and blockage: Zhangmen (LR13), Taibai (SP3), Zhaohai (KI6).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: This condition is not singular; there is Heat binding and Cold binding. Tonification should precede sedation.
[68] Uncontrollable diarrhea: Zhongwan (CV12), Tianshu (ST25), Zhongji (CV3).
[69] Dysentery with red and white discharge: For red discharge: Neiting (ST44), Tianshu (ST25), Yinbai (SP1), Qihai (CV6), Zhaohai (KI6), Neiguan (PC6). For white discharge with tenesmus and severe pain: Waiguan (TE5), Zhongwan (CV12), Yinbai (SP1), Tianshu (ST25), Shenmai (BL62).

[73] Malaria, chills preceding fever: Xuangu (GB39), Baihui (GV20), Gaohuang (BL43), Hegu (LI4).
[74] Malaria, fever preceding chills: Quchi (LI11) [Tonify first, sedate later], Xuangu (GB39) [Sedate first, tonify later], Gaohuang (BL43), Bailao (EX-UE11).
[75] More heat than chills: Houxi (SI3), Jianshi (PC5), Bailao (EX-UE11), Quchi (LI11).
[76] More chills than heat: Houxi (SI3), Bailao (EX-UE11), Quchi (LI11).
Q: How is this condition contracted?
A: It is all due to Spleen and Stomach weakness, summerheat injury in summer leading to malaria in autumn. There is more heat than chills, or isolated chills/fever; excess Qi leads to more heat, excess Phlegm leads to more chills. These are all due to stagnant fluid retention, consumption of blood and qi, failure of Spleen and Stomach, and unregulated sexual activity. Attacks may occur daily, every other day, or every three days. Untreated for long, it becomes a major affliction. Post-malaria complications include edema, consumptive disease, loose stools, abdominal distension, or water retention with malarial masses in the abdomen. Treatment requires regulating the Spleen, promoting appetite, and resolving phlegm-fluids. Acupoint selection follows previous methods.
[77] Regurgitation and vomiting: Zhongwan (CV12), Pishu (BL20), Zhongkui (EX-UE8), Zusanli (ST36).
[78] Inability to swallow water, known as Five Sie (Obstructions): Laogong (PC8), Zhongkui (EX-UE8), Zhongwan (CV12), Zusanli (ST36), Daling (PC7), Zhigou (TE6), Shangwan (CV13).
Q: How is regurgitation acquired? Can acupuncture treat it?
A: Some cases are treatable, others are not. At onset, it is due to excessive alcohol and sex, unregulated sexual activity, Cold in the Stomach, vomiting sour fluid. Food may be vomited immediately or one to three days later. Immediate vomiting is treatable; vomiting after two to three days indicates Spleen exhaustion and Stomach dryness, inability to digest food and water. Thus, there are five types of Sie: Qi Sie, Water Sie, Food Sie, Labor Sie, Thought Sie. Detailed analysis and treatment are required. Needle the following acupoints: Pishu (BL20), Weishu (BL21) [More tonification than sedation], Danzhong (CV17), Taibai (SP3), Xiawan (CV10), Shiguan (EX-LE1).
[79] Wheezing, coughing, and asthma: Shufu (BL12), Tiantu (CV22), Danzhong (CV17), Feishu (BL13), Zusanli (ST36), Zhongwan (CV12).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to preference for hot, sour, fishy foods, and invasion of wind-pathogens and phlegm-fluids into the Lungs; or anger injuring the Liver, combined with undigested food from drunkenness and sexual activity, lacking restraint. Cases vary: Water Asthma triggered by drinking; Qi Asthma triggered by anger and Cold clash with full phlegm; Salty Asthma triggered by salty food; or roasted/fried foods trigger it. Physicians must analyze carefully. This is common in children. Needle the following acupoints: Gaohuang (BL43), Qihai (CV6), Guanyuan (CV4), Rugen (ST18).
[80] Cough with red sputum: Bailao (EX-UE11), Feishu (BL13), Zhongwan (CV12), Zusanli (ST36).
Q: How is this condition contracted?
A: It is all due to excessive sexual desire, failure of Spleen and Kidney, anger injuring the Liver, blood failing to return to its origin, forming phlegm-fluids that invade the Lung Meridian. Untreated for long, it becomes Tuberculosis (Lao Zhai). Needle the following acupoints: Gaohuang (BL43), Shenshu (BL23), Feishu (BL13), Rugen (ST18).
[81] Hematemesis and similar conditions: Danzhong (CV17), Zhongwan (CV12), Qihai (CV6), Zusanli (ST36), Rugen (ST18), Zhigou (TE6).
Q: How is this condition acquired? What is the treatment method?
A: It is all due to worry and thought, emotional disturbances moving internally affecting the Heart (Spirit) and externally affecting the Form (Essence). Ancients said: The Heart generates blood, the Liver stores blood. When Heart and Liver meridians are constrained, Heart Fire flares up, blood and qi obstruct upwards, and Kidney Water fails to interact due to depletion, causing this condition. Differentiate deficiency and excess; do not treat uniformly. Feishu (BL13), Shenshu (BL23), Ganshu (BL18), Gaohuang (BL43), Guanyuan (CV4).
[82] Lung congestion and cough: Feishu (BL13), Danzhong (CV17), Zhigou (TE6), Daling (PC7).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: Due to wind-cold invasion, exterior and interior not resolved, continuous coughing, expectoration of pus and blood, indicating Lung Abscess. Needle the following acupoints: Fengmen (BL12), Zusanli (ST36).
[83] Chronic cough not healing: Feishu (BL13), Zusanli (ST36), Danzhong (CV17), Rugen (ST18), Fengmen (BL12), Quepen (ST12).
Q: How is this condition acquired?
A: It is all due to salty food injuring the Lungs, unregulated alcohol and sex, unresolved wind-cold, phlegm flowing into meridians, causing continuous cough. Previous acupoints can be needled.
