Zhangmen (LR13, Gate of the Rib), the Front-Mu point of the Spleen, also known as Changping or Xieduan, is located lateral to Dahuang (SP15), level with the umbilicus, at the end of the floating rib. It is the intersection of the Foot-Jueyin Liver Channel and the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel. To locate it, the patient lies on their side, flexes the upper leg, extends the lower leg, and raises the arm. Needle insertion depth is 0.8 cun, retain the needle for six breaths, moxa three moxibustion cones.
Daimai (GB26, Belt Vessel), located 1.8 cun below the end of the floating rib. Needle insertion depth is 0.6 cun, moxa five moxibustion cones. (Note from *Qifu Lun*: Intersection of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel and the Dai Mai [Belt Vessel] Channel.)
Wushu (GB27, Five Pivots), located 3 cun below Daimai; alternatively described as 1.5 cun lateral to Shuidao (ST28). Needle insertion depth is 1 cun, moxa five moxibustion cones. (Note from *Qifu Lun*: Intersection of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel and the Dai Mai [Belt Vessel] Channel.)
Jingmen (GB25, Capital Gate), the Front-Mu point of the Kidney, also known as Qifu or Qishu, located below the iliac crest (jian gu), in the lumbar region flanking the spine, 1.8 cun below the end of the floating rib. Needle insertion depth is 0.3 cun, retain the needle for seven breaths, moxa three moxibustion cones.
Weidao (GB28, Way of Maintenance), also known Waishu, located 5.3 cun below Zhangmen (LR13). It is the intersection of the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel and the Dai Mai [Belt Vessel] Channel. Needle insertion depth is 0.8 cun, moxa three moxibustion cones.
Juliao (GB29, Joint Hollow), located 8.3 cun below Zhangmen (LR13), in the depression above the iliac crest (jian gu/iggu). It is the intersection of the Yang Qiao Mai [Yang Heel Vessel] and the Foot-Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel. Needle insertion depth is 0.8 cun, moxa three moxibustion cones. (Note from *Qifu Lun*: "Jian gu" refers to "Iggu" [iliac bone].)
The Small Intestine channel connects superiorly with the Hand-Taiyang Channel, emerging at Shaose (SI1, Lesser Marsh). Shaose belongs to Metal, also known as Xiaoji. It is located at the ulnar end of the little finger, 0.1 cun distal to the corner of the nail, in the depression where the Qi of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel emerges; it is the Jing-Well point. Needle insertion depth is 0.1 cun, retain the needle for two breaths, moxa one moxibustion cone.
Qiangu (SI2, Fore Valley), belongs to Water. It is located on the ulnar side of the little finger, in the depression proximal to the metacarpophalangeal joint, where the Qi of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel flows; it is the Ying-Spring point. Needle insertion depth is 0.1 cun, retain the needle for three breaths, moxa three moxibustion cones.
Houxi (SI3, Posterior Stream), belongs to Wood. It is located on the ulnar side of the little finger, in the depression distal to the metacarpophalangeal joint, where the Qi of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel pours; it is the Shu-Stream point. Needle insertion depth is 0.2 cun, retain the needle for two breaths, moxa one moxibustion cone.
Wangu (SI4, Wrist Bone), located on the ulnar aspect of the wrist anteriorly, in the depression below the pisiform bone, where the Qi of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel passes; it is the Yuan-Source point. Needle insertion depth is 0.2 cun, retain the needle for three breaths, moxa three moxibustion cones.
Yanggu (SI5, Yang Valley), belongs to Fire. It is located in the center of the ulnar aspect of the wrist, in the depression below the styloid process of the ulna (dui gu), where the Qi of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel travels; it is the Jing-River point. Needle insertion depth is 0.2 cun, retain the needle for two breaths (Note from *Qixue Lun*: retain for three breaths), moxa three moxibustion cones.
Yanglao (SI6, Supporting Old Age), the Xi-Cleft point of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel, located in a hollow space above the ulnar head, 1 cun proximal to the wrist crease, in the depression. Needle insertion depth is 0.3 cun, moxa three moxibustion cones.
Zhizheng (SI7, Branching Correctness), the Luo-Connecting point of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel, located 5 cun posterior to the elbow (another version states posterior to the wrist), diverging to connect with the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Channel. Needle insertion depth is 0.3 cun, retain the needle for seven breaths, moxa three moxibustion cones.
Xiaohai (SI8, Lesser Sea), belongs to Earth. It is located lateral to the medial epicondyle of the humerus (large bone of the elbow), 0.5 cun from the end of the elbow, in the depression found when the elbow is flexed; it is the point where the Qi of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Channel enters; it is the He-Sea point. Needle insertion depth is 0.2 cun, retain the needle for seven breaths, moxa seven moxibustion cones. (Note from *Qixue Lun* refers to this point as Shaohai.)
