The starting point of the Stomach Meridian is Li Dui (L1, 厉兑). Li Dui belongs to Metal. It is located at the lateral end of the second toe, approximately the width of a leek leaf from the corner of the nail. It is the point where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian issues forth and serves as the Jing-Well point. The needle insertion depth is one fen; retain the needle for one respiration period; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Nei Ting (ST44, 内庭) belongs to Water. It is located in the depression between the lateral side of the second toe and the first toe. It is the point where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian flows through and serves as the Ying-Spring point. The needle insertion depth is three fen; retain the needle for twenty respiration periods (Note from *Qi Xue Lun*: retain for ten respiration periods); moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Xian Gu (ST43, 陷谷) belongs to Wood. It is located in the depression distal to the metatarsophalangeal joint between the first and second toes, two cun distal to Nei Ting. It is the point where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian pours into and serves as the Shu-Stream point. The needle insertion depth is five fen; retain the needle for seven respiration periods; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Chong Yang (ST42, 冲阳), also known as Hui Yuan, is located on the dorsum of the foot, five cun proximal to the web margin, within the bone interspace over the arterial pulse. It is three cun proximal to Xian Gu. It is the point where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian passes through and serves as the Yuan-Source point. The needle insertion depth is three fen; retain the needle for ten respiration periods; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Jie Xi (ST41, 解溪) belongs to Fire. It is located one and a half cun posterior to Chong Yang, in the depression above the ankle joint. It is the point where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian travels along and serves as the Jing-River point. The needle insertion depth is five fen; retain the needle for five respiration periods; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones. (Note from *Qi Xue Lun*: distance is two and a half cun; Note from *Ci Nue Lun*: distance is three and a half cun.)
Feng Long (ST40, 丰隆) is the Luo-Connecting point of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. It is located eight cun above the lateral malleolus, in the depression between the anterior crest of the tibia and the lateral border of the fibula. From here, the channel branches off to connect with the Foot-Taiyin Spleen Meridian. The needle insertion depth is three fen; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Xia Ju Xu (ST39, 下巨虚): The Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian combines with the Small Intestine Meridian. It is located three cun distal to Shang Ju Xu. The needle insertion depth is three fen; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones. (Note from *Qi Xue Lun*: This is where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian emerges.)
Tiao Kou (ST38, 条口) is located one cun proximal to Xia Ju Xu. It is where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian emerges. The needle insertion depth is eight fen; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Shang Ju Xu (ST37, 上巨虚): The Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian combines with the Large Intestine Meridian. It is located three cun distal to Zu San Li. The needle insertion depth is eight fen; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones. (Note from *Qi Xue Lun*: Located six cun distal to Du Bi, this is where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian emerges.)
Zu San Li (ST36, 足三里) belongs to Earth. It is located three cun distal to the lower border of the patella, on the lateral aspect of the anterior crest of the tibia. It is the point where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian converges and serves as the He-Sea point. The needle insertion depth is one inch and five fen; retain the needle for seven respiration periods; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones. (*Su Wen* states: Located three cun distal to the knee, in the intermuscular space between the two muscles on the lateral aspect of the anterior crest of the tibia.)
Du Bi (ST35, 犊鼻) is located below the patella, in the depression lateral to the patellar ligament. It is where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian emerges. The needle insertion depth is six fen; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Liang Qiu (ST34, 梁丘) is the Xi-Cleft point of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian. It is located two cun superior to the upper border of the patella. The needle insertion depth is three fen; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
Yin Shi (ST33, 阴市), also known as Yin Ding, is located three cun superior to the upper border of the patella, inferior to Fu Tu. To locate it, assume a kneeling or bowing posture. It is where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian emerges. The needle insertion depth is three fen; retain the needle for seven respiration periods. Moxibustion is contraindicated. (Note from *Ci Yao Tong Lun*: In the depression inferior to Fu Tu, moxibustion of three cones may be applied.)
Fu Tu (ST32, 伏兔) is located six cun superior to the upper border of the patella, within the bulging muscle belly. It is where the Qi of the Foot-Yangming Stomach Meridian emerges. The needle insertion depth is five fen. Moxibustion is contraindicated.
Bi Guan (ST31, 髀关) is located posterior to Fu Tu, in the crease where the thigh meets the groin. The needle insertion depth is six fen; moxibustion consists of three moxa cones.
