Yingchuang (ST16, Breast Window) treats breast abscess with chills and fever. The patient experiences restless sleep. (From *Tongren Shuxue Zhenjiu Tujing*)
Linqi (GB41, Foot Gaping) treats breast abscess. (Recorded in contexts related to menstruation).
Shenfeng (BL17, Divine Enclosure) treats the sensation of aversion to cold and shivering associated with breast abscess. (Same record in Ming dynasty texts).
Rugen (ST18, Breast Root) treats the desolate cold sensation (Qianlu edition of *Qianjin Fang* adds "heat") and pain associated with breast abscess. The pain is severe and cannot be pressed.
Zusanli (ST36, Leg Three Miles) primarily treats breast abscess (*Tongren* agrees), accompanied by heat. (Qianlu edition of *Qianjin Fang*).
Xialian (ST39, Lower Limb Hollow) primarily treats breast abscess, jing-bi (startling bi-syndrome), heaviness of the lower legs. (*Tongren* reads as throat bi-swelling). Inability to lift the dorsum of the foot, heel pain.
Shenfeng (BL17) and Yingchuang (ST16) primarily treat breast abscess accompanied by chills and fever, shortness of breath, and restless sleep.
Tianxi (ST22, Heavenly Stream) and Xiaxi (GB43, Gaping Stream) primarily treat breast swelling and abscess ulceration.
Discussion states: After childbirth, one should frequently express milk and not allow it to accumulate. If accumulation occurs and is not expelled, it will coagulate and fail to flow out. Toxic fluids within induce heat, leading to elevated temperature, firm induration, pulling pain, extreme thirst with desire to drink, urgent breast pain, and inability to touch the area with hands. This condition forms "Du Ru" (Jealous Breast), which is not a true abscess. Immediately moxa the Yuji points on both hands for fourteen moxibustion doses to sever the abscess pulse. This will eliminate fear of touch, and milk will flow naturally. At this point, manual assistance can be used to squeeze and guide the flow, resulting in large quantities of milk discharge, appearing like pus. Internally administer Liaoqiao Tang (Forsythia Decoction); externally apply a thin paste of Vigna angularis (Adzuki Bean). Recovery follows. Alternatively, measure the width of the mouth horizontally with a rope, use this length to measure upwards from the nipple, and moxa the end of the measurement for fourteen moxibustion doses. (From *Qianjin Yifang*)
The *Qianjin Fang* discussion states: For women suffering from breast abscess, those under forty years old are mostly cured by treatment; those over forty years old often die despite treatment. Without treatment, they may live out their natural lifespan. A relative aged seventy suffered from breast abscess but did not believe this theory. She allowed a surgeon to incise it with a knife. Although initially relieving, she died within a year. Only then did she realize the reliability of the *Qianjin Fang*.
Some methods involve applying crushed fresh Rehmanniae Radix juice; others use crushed leaves or roots of Brassica rapa var. trilocularis (Turnip) applied topically, changing when warm. Some use Angelicae Dahuricae Radix powder mixed with warm water for topical application, which is effective.
(Low Milk Supply / Regurgitation)
Rugen (ST18) treats breast pain. (Ming dynasty texts).
Huangmen (BL52, Blind Gate), (Ming dynasty texts agree), treats residual diseases of the breasts in women. (*Tongren*).
Qianlu edition of *Qianjin Fang* states: Zhongji (CV3, Central Pole) primarily treats residual breast diseases.
Qichong (ST30, Qi Rushing) treats difficult lactation and fetal movement pressing against the heart/chest. (Recorded in contexts related to menstruation).
Fushe (SP13, House Abode), jue-qi invades both breasts. (Recorded in contexts related to spleen pain).
Daquan (EX-UE1, Great Spring) primarily treats Du Ru (Jealous Breast) and chest pain. (*Qianjin Fang*).
Tianxi (ST22) treats breast swelling extending to the chest. (Recorded in contexts related to chest pain).
Liangqiu (ST34, Liangqiu), (Recorded in contexts related to wind-stroke/startling).
Diwuhui (LR4, Earth Five Meetings) treats breast swelling.
Tianyao (SI16, Heavenly Window) primarily treats breast swelling and swelling in the supraclavicular fossa. (*Qianjin Fang*).
Zulinqi (GB41) primarily treats breast swelling. (Recorded in contexts related to menstruation).
Danzhong (CV17, Chest Center) treats low milk supply. (*Tongren*).
Ming dynasty text footnote states: Stagnant milk vessels with no milk flow are cured immediately by fire needle therapy.
For infant regurgitation, moxa Zhongting (CV16, Middle Court) for one moxibustion dose. (Ming dynasty text footnote).
For infant throat resonance and difficulty swallowing milk, moxa Xuanji (CV21, Mysterious Pivot) for three moxibustion doses.
