Dou Cake Moxibustion Method: Used to treat carbuncles and sores that fail to rise (referring to flat ulcers that do not elevate or suppurate). Take fermented soybeans (Douchi) mixed with Sichuan pepper, ginger, salt, and green onion, pound them into a paste, and shape into cakes. The thickness should resemble a folded coin, weighing approximately three qian. Place the cake on the sore and apply moxibustion. If it feels too hot, lift and replace the cake; if the cake dries out, replace it with a new one and continue moxibustion. If pus has already formed, strictly avoid moxibustion. (Source: *Jingyi*)

Sulfur Moxibustion Method: Used to treat various sores that persist for a long time without healing... (The original text appears to have missing characters here, typically referring to malignant or stubborn sores). Take a piece of sulfur roughly the size of the sore's opening and place it on the wound. Take a small amount of sulfur, heat it until red-hot on fire, and use a fork tip to pick up the burning sulfur, allowing it to ignite the sulfur cake three to five times. Continue until the pus and exudate dry up and the sore heals. (Source: *Jingyi*)

Garlic-Partitioned Moxibustion Method: Used to treat carbuncles, furuncles, swelling, and toxicity, characterized by severe pain or numbness with no pain. First, cover the affected area with wet paper; wait for the first spot to dry to mark the extent of the sore. Slice a single-head garlic into pieces three fen thick and place it on the head of the sore. Apply moxa cones for moxibustion. Replace the garlic slice every five moxa cones. If the sore is large or consists of multiple heads growing together, pound the garlic into a paste, spread it over the affected area, and apply moxibustion. For excess conditions causing pain, moxibustiate until the pain ceases; for deficiency conditions lacking pain, moxibustiate until pain is felt. This method draws upon the principle of resolving toxic stagnation and has the power to revive the dying. If the sore is white, fails to rise, and does not suppurate, regardless of the duration since onset, frequent moxibustion is most suitable. (Source: *Rumen*)

Mulberry Branch Moxibustion Method: Used to treat "Fa Bei" (severe back carbuncle) that fails to rise or putrefy. Ignite a mulberry branch (*Morus alba* twig), blow out the flame, and use the smoldering tip to moxibustiate the affected area. Perform this three to five times daily, each session lasting a short while, until the necrotic tissue becomes loose and sloughs off. If the necrotic tissue has been removed but new flesh grows slowly, it is advisable to moxibustiate the periphery of the sore. This method is particularly suitable for chronic non-healing conditions such as yin sores, scrofula (*Luoli*), and flowing abscesses (*Liuzhu*). (Source: *Rumen*)

Aconite Moxibustion Method: Used to treat brain carbuncles and other hard, firm swellings. Cut prepared Aconite root (*Fuzi*) into slices the size of chess pieces, of appropriate thickness, and place them directly over the swelling. Moisten the aconite slice slightly with saliva, then apply moxibustion. Ensure the heat penetrates through the aconite; whenever the aconite begins to dry, re-moisten it with saliva. Maintain the aconite consistently warm and penetrating. When the medicinal qi enters the swelling, there is no case that does not heal. (Source: *Zisheng*)

Yellow Earth Moxibustion Method: "Fa Bei" (back carbuncle) usually occurs between the two shoulder blades on the back. Initially, it is the size of a millet grain, either painful or itchy. People often neglect it, leading to death within ten days. In an emergency, take clean yellow earth, mix with water to form mud, and shape into cakes. The cakes should be two fen thick and one and a half cun wide. Apply the cake to the sore and place a large moxa cone on top for moxibustion. Replace the cake after each moxa cone burns out. If the sore is the size of a millet grain, seven cakes are sufficient for cure. If the sore is the size of a coin, perform continuous day and night moxibustion until healed. (Source: *Zisheng*)
