Hunger and fullness out of time lead to disharmony of the Spleen and Stomach. When the Spleen and Stomach are in a Excess state, food is digested quickly and hunger arises easily; when they are in a Deficiency state, food stagnates and fails to digest.
Dietary intake doubles, yet the body gradually becomes emaciated. For Pi accumulation (accumulation disease) with abdominal pain, moxa Miao Shu (BL20, 3 burns according to age), needle Zhang Men (LR13), Qi Men (LR14), Bai Tang (SP3), Zhong Wan (CV12).
Abdominal distension, lack of appetite, undigested food, needle Zhong Wan (CV12). Moxa Gan Shu (BL18, 7 burns), Wei Shu (BL21, burns according to age), Miao Shu (BL20, 3 burns).
Lethargy after eating, limbs weak and lazy, irritability, heat, desire to lie down, take Miao Shu (BL20), Ran Gu (KI2), Shen Shu (BL23), Jie Xi (ST41).
Vomiting and regurgitation, inability to eat, moa Xin Shu (BL15, 100 burns), only needle Zhong Wan (CV12), miraculous effect.
Food retention with thirst, take Lao Gong (PC8), Zhong Zhu (TE3), Zhi Gou (TE6), Zhong Wan (CV12).
Aversion to the smell of food, take Xia San Li (ST36), needle Zhong Wan (CV12).
Emaciation and yellowing due to overeating, needle Zhang Men (LR13), Zhong Wan (CV12), miraculous effect.
Fan Wei (Rebellious Vomiting/Stomach Inversion), needle Gongsun (SP4), Zhong Wan (CV12).
Often caused by disharmony of the Spleen and Stomach, resulting in jaundice of the whole body and face. If black blood appears in stool, it is Shi Dan (Food Jaundice), with symptoms of dizziness, heart vexation. If caused by alcohol, it is Jiu Dan (Alcohol Jaundice), with symptoms of yellow eyes, nasal congestion, heat in the chest and soles of feet. If caused by sexual exhaustion, it is Nu Lao Dan (Female Labor Jaundice), with symptoms of black forehead, yellow body, fullness and urgency in the lower abdomen, difficult urination; this condition is difficult to treat. Generally, for all types of Dan (Jaundice), if there is bland taste in mouth, palpitations, tinnitus, soft legs, alternating chills and fever, turbid white urine, thirst indicates difficult treatment; no thirst indicates treatable.
Shen Dan (Kidney Jaundice), moa Feng Men (BL12, 5 burns), Shen Shu (BL23, burns according to age), Shao Ze (SI1, 1 burn), Yin Jiao (SP6, 3 to 30 burns), He Gu (LI4, 3 burns).
Huang Dan (Yellow Jaundice), take Bai Lao (DU14), moxibustion 3-7 burns, Xia San Li (ST36), needle Zhong Wan (CV12), miraculous effect.
Jiu Dan (Alcohol Jaundice), yellow body and eyes, heart pain, red face, spots on skin, difficult urination, take Gongsun (SP4), Dan Shu (BL19), Zhi Yang (DU9), Wei Zhong (BL40), Wan Gu (SI4), Zhong Wan (CV12), Shen Men (HT7), Xiao Chang Shu (BL27).
The formula for Thirty-Six Huang Dan states: First moxa Miao Shu (BL20) and Xin Shu (BL15) each 3 burns, then moxa He Gu (LI4) 3 burns, then moxa Qi Hai (CV6) 100 burns, only needle Zhong Wan (CV12), miraculous effect.
Nu Lao Dan (Female Labor Jaundice), take Gongsun (SP4), Guan Yuan (CV4), Shen Shu (BL23), Ran Gu (KI2), Zhi Yang (DU9, located below the 7th thoracic vertebra, taken while bending forward) moxa 3 burns.
Shi Dan (Food Jaundice), needle Xia San Li (ST36), Shen Men (HT7), Jian Shi (PC5), Lie Que (LU7), Zhong Wan (CV12).
Painful and itchy sores and ulcers all belong to Heart Fire. Treatment should be based on the affected meridians and the Heart Meridian.
Yong (Carbuncle) is swelling caused by Yang stagnating in Yin, characterized by a raised head, shiny skin and flesh.
Ju (Deep Abscess) is swelling caused by Yin stagnating in Yang, characterized by no head, large internal spread, wrinkled skin without luster. To identify the Ju orifice, apply wet paper to the swelling; the first place where it dries is the Ju orifice.
At the initial stage of Yong, Ju, Ding, and Ji (boils), observe the meridian distribution. Needle along the respective meridians without skipping days. If needles are applied every other day, it will be ineffective. Do not worry about auspicious dates or taboos; needle daily. Or needle twice a day to drain toxicity, ensuring recovery within ten days. If needle every other day, or after 5-6 sessions the patient suffers and abandons halfway, leading to death. Or if not dead, internal rot develops, new flesh grows slowly over months, causing immense hardship. Compared to enduring 10+ days of continuous needling versus death or extreme suffering, which is lighter? Regret will come too late. If the patient refuses needling, urgently moxa Qi Zhu Ma (EX-B3) 7 burns, miraculously effective.
Another method: Within the first three days of onset, use the fourth finger to collect saliva and smear it on the swelling continuously day and night, keeping it moist. Within 4-5 days, it will heal naturally. No herbal formula surpasses this.
For initial Yong, Ju, toxic swelling within three days, urgently moxa the swelling head 3-7 burns, natural healing. No formula surpasses this. Initially small like millet, people often ignore it; until toxicity erupts, it leads to death, regretting too late. If more than three days have passed, moxa Qi Zhu Ma (EX-B3) each 7 burns, miraculously effective.
For various Yong and Ju swellings that are neither itchy nor painful, with blue-black color, muscle necrosis occurs first, ultimately incurable. At onset, urgently moxa Qi Zhu Ma (EX-B3) each 7 burns.
Swelling at hairline, lips, or face is most critical and dangerous. Do not lightly incise. Must needle daily along meridians to drain toxicity. If needling is not possible, apply self-decaying medication to await pus rupture, and consume 5-6 Chan Kuai (Toad Meat Paste). Effective whether ruptured or not.
Back swelling also requires daily needling of relevant meridians for natural recovery. However, if poorly treated until pus matures, use a large needle to rupture beyond the red halo. Then take 6-7 large toads, make into paste, mix with ginger and mustard juice, and eat. Evil flesh will dissolve, new flesh will grow, bringing back life from death.
When back swelling presents as millet-sized lesions emerging randomly above the swelling, forming perforations, pressing with fingers causes pus to exude from holes; releasing pressure causes pus to return. This indicates mature pus. Use a large needle to rupture the edge of the red halo.
For any size swelling, regardless of duration, moxa Qi Zhu Ma (EX-B3) 7 burns, universally effective.
