Bai Xian Yu Lin (White Depression Fish-Scale): This condition is caused by accumulated heat in the Liver and Lung meridians, where heat fills and attacks upwards, resulting in a white nebula forming on the cornea (Hei Jing), resembling the arrangement of fish scales or a jujube flower, with a white depression in the center. The condition flares up and subsides intermittently, accompanied by pain and tearing. However, women are more prone to this disease. Why? Because women's suffering and joy are not entirely within their control; the Seven Emotions (Joy, Anger, Worry, Thought, Sorrow, Fear, Fright) become depressed and stagnant, causing toxic heat to accumulate in the Liver and Lungs. The Liver and Lungs are the chambers of blood. Women prioritize blood as their foundation; when blood is damaged, Liver Wind arises. The Black Pupil area (associated with the Wind Wheel) is prone to generating such nebulae. In severe cases, the white depression penetrates deeply into the Iris (Huang Ren) like a nail, drawing blood and causing mutual transmission, gradually developing into a major ailment, often accompanied by forehead pain. Treatment involves applying Mo Ding Gao (Scalp Rubbing Paste) for friction and patching on the forehead, or using Yin Er Yang Si Dan (Yin Two Yang Four Powder) insufflated into the eye. Alternatively, Qing Yan (Green Salt) and Huang Ni (Yellow Clay) can be sealed together, baked until cooked, ground into powder, and applied to the fish-scale-like nebula using a duck feather once daily, which can also eliminate the nebula!
Question: What is the reason for the black cornea developing a white nebula that is concave and uneven, forming depressions?
Answer: This is due to Liver deficiency and Blood decline. Therefore, Liver deficiency allows Wind pathogen invasion; excessive Wind causes pain. Blood decline leads to the formation of depressions. Treatment method: Instill medicines such as Zhen Zhu Er Ba Dan (Pearl Two Eight Powder).
If pain is severe, it is suitable to take:
Jiu Tiao San (Wine-Adjusted Powder) (Formula found under the symptom "Tu Qi Jing Gao" / Protruding Eye Highness).
Mo Yao San (Myrrh Powder) (Formula found under the symptom "Xue Guan Tong Ren" / Blood Pouring into the Pupil).
If there is photophobia but no pain, it is suitable to take:
Chan Hua San (Cicada Flower Powder) and Mi Meng Hua San (Buddleja Powder) (Both formulas found under the symptom "Liang Jian Nian Jing" / Eyelids Adhering).
Sang Piao Xiao Jiu Tiao San (Mantis Egg Case Wine-Adjusted Powder) (Formula found under the symptom "Bao Feng Ke Re" / Violent Wind Guest Heat).
(This condition is identical to Zao Hua Bai Xian / Jujube Flower White Depression).
When a person suffers from eye nebulae resembling radish flowers or fish scale seeds, sinking in like broken rice grains, this indicates that heat-toxin from the Liver meridian has entered the brain, causing sudden swelling and pain in the eyes, redness, dryness, tearing, blurred vision, headache, and nasal congestion. This is caused by extreme Liver Wind-Heat and extreme Brain Wind-Heat. It is suitable to take Xie Gan San (Liver-Draining Powder), primarily treating with Jia Wei Xiu Gan San (Modified Liver-Nourishing Powder).
