The symptoms of crab-eye pain are identical to those of black nebula (corneal opacity), originating from the pupil, and constitute a disease of the Liver and Kidney. The opacity resembles a bean or a pearl; when it protrudes over the pupil with a small root and a large apex, it is termed "crab-eye." This condition stems from pathology in the Diaphragm (chest and diaphragm region), where toxic heat stagnates within the Diaphragm, causing Qi to become latent and transform into heat. Symptoms include redness, dryness, tearing, severe pain making eye opening difficult, photophobia, and aversion to sunlight. The opacity rises sharply and high, resembling the shape of a crab's eye. The treatment method is the same as for the preceding syndrome: use a fine-pointed needle to puncture and drain the foul fluid; once drained, the swelling subsides. Subsequently, apply mild Dan Yao (mineral/chemical ointment) to resolve the opacity's root. Medication differs from the previous case; one should administer formulas that purge Liver heat and tonify Kidney deficiency. Take Kidney-tonifying medicine on an empty stomach, and take Xie Gan San (Liver-Purging Powder) after meals.

Xie Gan San (Liver-Purging Powder)
Bu Shen San (Kidney-Tonifying Powder)
Ingredients: Cicada Slough (Cicadae Periostracum), Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng), Tribulus Fruit (Jili, stir-fried), Angelica Sinensis Root (Danggui), Primrose Flower (Mimenghua), Equisetum Hiemale Stem (Muzei), Szechuan Lovage Rhizome (Chuanxiong), Chrysanthemum Flower (Juhua), Schizonepeta Spike (Jingjie), Poria (Fuling), Abalone Shell (Shijueming, calcined), Lycium Fruit (Gouqizi), Anemarrhena Rhizome (Zhimu), Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai), Blue Salt (Qingyan).
All ingredients in equal proportions. Decoct in water and take on an empty stomach.
Spinning-Spiral Apex Rising is characterized by heat accumulating in the Liver and toxicity obstructing the Diaphragm gate, attacking the eyeball and causing pain. The central pupil gradually turns bluish-white, suddenly protruding with entangled blood vessels. This indicates membrane invasion into the Water Wheel (the cornea/pupil area governed by the Kidney). Heat from both the Liver and Kidney rotates and rises to form an apex, resembling a snail's tail; thus, it is named the Spinning-Spiral Apex Rising syndrome. Treatment: Apply Yin Er Yang Si Dan (a specific mineral powder) via insufflation, or apply leech blood mixed with eel blood to the apex. If the condition has persisted for years, use a sharp needle to penetrate half a cun into the center of the pupil to drain foul fluid, thereby restoring balance. Seal the area with paper for rest, avoid wind, and observe dietary restrictions; recovery takes about ten days. Internally, administer Shuang Jie San (Double-Resolution Powder) and Yu Jin Jiu Tiao San (Turmeric Wine-Adjusted Powder).
