上二味，捣漆为散，内生地黄汁中微火煎，令可丸，酒服桐子大三丸，至七、八丸，即

Formula for treating leukorrhea (vaginal discharge) of red and white color in women.
Harvest Motherwort Herb (Yimucao, 益母草) when it is in bloom, crush it into powder. Take two qian per dose, mixed with warm water before meals. (From *Zhenglei Bencao*, Vol. 6)
Formula for treating sudden severe metrorrhagia (sudden heavy uterine bleeding) in women, with continuous blood flow or blood resembling the liver of a goose or duck.
Radix Cirsii Japonici (Xiaoji Gen, 小蓟根) (6 liang), Colla Corii Asini (Ejiao, 阿胶) (roasted), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui, 当归), Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Xiong, 川芎), Radix Dipsaci (Xuduan, 续断), Young Bamboo Shoot Juice (Qingzhuru, 青竹茹) (each 3 liang), Caulis Bambusae in Taenia (Zaozhong Huangtu, 灶中黄土/灶心土), Radix Sanguisorbae (Diyugen, 地榆根) (each 4 liang).
The above ten ingredients are cut, boiled in eight sheng of water with juice from horse manure (Matongzhi, 马通汁) until reduced to two and a half sheng, divided into three doses. If bleeding has not completely stopped, after taking three or four doses, administer this pill formula.
Radix Dipsaci (Xuduan, 续断), Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata (Gancao, 甘草) (roasted), Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum (Lurong, 鹿茸) (roasted), Radix Cirsii Japonici (Xiaoji Gen, 小蓟根), Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (Danshen, 丹参) (each 5 fen), Radix Rehmanniae Preparata (Shengdihuang, 干地黄) (10 fen), Rhizoma Chuanxiong (Xiong, 川芎), Colla Corii Asini (Ejiao, 阿胶) (roasted), Lapis Kaolinis Rubra (Chishizhi, 赤石脂), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui, 当归) (each 6 fen), Radix Sanguisorbae (Diyu, 地榆) (6 fen), Ramulus et Folium Platycladi (Baiye, 柏叶) (stir-fried, 4 fen), Cornu Bubali (Qiniu jiao, 秦牛角) (roasted yellow), Carapax et Plastrum Testudinis (Guijia, 龟甲) (each 12 fen, roasted until black).
The above fourteen ingredients are crushed and sifted, mixed with honey to form pills the size of paulownia seeds. Take ten pills with wine, twice daily, increasing up to thirty pills. (From *Waitai Miyao*, Vol. 34)
Powder formula for treating persistent metrorrhagia in women.
Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum (Lurong, 鹿茸) (3 liang), Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Danggui, 当归) (2 liang), Spora Typhae (Puhuang, 蒲黄) (1 liang), Colla Corii Asini (Ejiao, 阿胶) (3 liang), Cutula Sepiae (Wuzeigu, 乌贼骨) (2 liang, remove calcareous glans).
The above five ingredients are ground into powder. Take one fangcun bi (a measure equivalent to a square inch spoonful) with wine, three times during the day and twice at night. (From *Yixin Fang*, Vol. 21)
Formula for treating persistent metrorrhagia that lasts for years and causes severe debility.
Take the firewood from the double-nest of magpies and burn it to ash. Take one fangcun bi per dose, three times daily. A "double nest" refers to a nest built by magpies on top of last year's nest where they laid eggs. (From *Yixin Fang*, Vol. 21)
Formula for treating firm masses below the umbilicus, large as a cup or jug, with regular menstruation, alternating chills and fever, dysentery, and emaciation; this indicates zheng qi (abdominal mass disease), which is incurable. However, cases where zheng qi has not yet formed are treatable.
Radix Rehmanniae Recens (Shengdihuang, 生地黄) (30 jin, extract juice), Resina Taxilli (Ganqi, 干漆) (1 jin, processed).
Process the Ganqi into powder, mix into the Shengdihuang juice, and simmer over low heat until it can be formed into pills. Take three pills the size of paulownia seeds with wine, gradually increasing to seven or eight pills, then stop. (From *Waitai Miyao*, Vol. 34)
