(1) Deer Antler Velvet (Lurong): Primarily indicated for tonifying Yuan Qi (Original Qi). One must not sniff the antler velvet with the nose, as it contains tiny white insects invisible to the naked eye. If these enter the nasal cavity, they will cause "Chong Sang" (nasal disease caused by parasites), at which point medicinal treatment becomes ineffective. [Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(2) Deer Head Meat: Primarily indicated for treating Xiao Ke (Wasting and Thirsting syndrome, akin to diabetes) and excessive dreaming where one sees strange objects in dreams. [From *Qianjin Fang*; Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(3) Additionally, Deer Hoof Meat: Primarily indicated for treating pain within the bone marrow of the feet and knees. [From *Qianjin Fang*; Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(4) Deer Meat: Primarily indicated for tonifying Middle Jiao Qi (Qi of the middle burner) and enhancing physical strength. [Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(5) Additionally, Raw Deer Meat: Primarily indicated for treating facial deviation due to Wind Stroke (Zhong Feng). Mash raw Sichuan pepper together with the raw meat and apply as a poultice. Carefully monitor until the face returns to symmetry; once corrected, remove the application immediately. [From *Qianjin Fang*; Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(6) According to careful observation: Consuming deer meat after the ninth month and before the first month of the lunar year can tonify deficiency, emaciation, and weakness, benefit the Five Zang organs, and regulate the blood vessels. Consuming it at other times may induce cold diseases. [Note from *Jiayou Bencao*; Evidence from *Shiliao Bencao*]
(7) Deer Horn: Primarily indicated for treating carbuncles, sores, ulcers, and swelling, and for expelling evil blood. For lower back and spine pain or traumatic injuries, often take the tip of the deer horn, grind it into powder, soak it in five sheng of white honey, simmer over low heat until slightly discolored, dry it in the sun, then pound and sieve it into fine powder. Take with wine. (This method) makes the body light, increases strength, strengthens the bone marrow, tonifies Yang Dao (Yang pathways), and treats severe injuries. [Note from *Jiayou Bencao*; Evidence from *Shiliao Bencao*]
(8) Deer Horn: Calcined into ash (Fei Dan), its consumption is highly effective. Cut the horn into inch-long segments, place them in a porcelain or earthenware vessel, wrap with mud, and calcine over high fire for one day until it resembles jade powder. Alternatively, roast until yellow, grind into powder, sieve finely, and take with wine to benefit the person. To make Deer Horn Glue, break the horn into small pieces, soak in water for seven days until soft, and then boil. [Evidence from *Shiliao Bencao*]
(9) Additionally, for women who dream of sexual intercourse with ghosts, take three finger-widths of Deer Horn powder, mix with clear wine, and ingest to expel the so-called "ghost essence." [Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(10) Additionally, for women with retained lochia in the uterus nearing death, mix Deer Horn ash with clear wine and administer one fang cun bi (a square-inch measure) per dose, three times daily and once at night, which is very effective. [Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(11) Additionally, for pediatric double tongue (Chong She), mix Deer Horn ash with decoction of adzuki beans, apply under the tongue, three times daily. [Note from *Jiayou Bencao*]
(12) Deer Bone: Warm in nature. Primarily indicated for calming the fetus, directing Qi downward, and dispelling evil spirits/essence; suitable for infusing in wine. Deer with white fur on the chest should not be eaten. [Evidence from *Shiliao Bencao*]
