In cases where falls and blows cause rib fractures with intestinal prolapse, immediately apply oil to lubricate and insert the intestines. Simultaneously, decoct Ginseng (Renshen) and Goji Berry (Gouqi) to rinse the wound. Consume sheep kidney porridge continuously for ten days to heal. Sprinkling cold water on the face is even more effective.
For contusions and crush injuries to the chest, ribs, waist, and flanks, or tendon strains from carrying heavy loads and losing footing, pain may not be felt initially but emerges after years. Light pressure on the surface causes no pain, while deep pressure elicits pain. Coughing or deep inhalation may trigger pulling pain. This indicates internal injury with qi reversal and long-standing blood stasis, which may lead to toxic accumulation. Use 1 liang of Raw Dahuang (Rhubarb Root), baked only, never stir-fried over fire. Pound 2 liang of old ginger until mashed, mix with one cup of boiling water, and squeeze out the juice. Warm this mixture in a double boiler, mix with Dahuang powder to form a paste, and apply to the painful area. Do not leave the edges exposed. Cover with coarse paper and secure with cotton bandages. Change once daily. Healing occurs within three days with miraculous efficacy.
