Sudan Wood (Lignum Dalbergiae Odoriferae), White Hemp Bark (Cannabis Sativa L. Bark), and Fine Wood Ear Fungus, each two qian, are all roasted on a tile until charred, then ground together into fine powder. Take with yellow wine and brown sugar mixed. Afterwards, drink until drunk, avoid wind, and sleep for one night to recover.

This formula treats all kinds of injuries. Calcined Pyrite (Natural Copper) (calcined seven times in vinegar, ground to powder), Dragon's Blood (Sanguis Draconis), Frankincense (Boswellia carterii resin, oil removed), and Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha resin, oil removed), each three qian, Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius), combined... Specifically treats all contusions, traumatic injuries, tetanus, and consumptive diseases caused by excessive strain; also treats strange syndromes arising from lochia retention after childbirth in women; blood stasis rushing to the heart, phlegm confusing the heart orifices, critical condition. For severe cases, take one qian; for mild cases, take three fen. Administer with non-ashy wine (wu hui jiu) to immediately preserve life. If injured by a musket ball with lead remaining inside, a matter of moments to live, take one qian, drink several cups of wine, sleep for one shichen (two hours), and recover upon sweating. Avoid cold water and raw/cold foods. Whenever hands, feet, shoulders, or back are struck by heavy objects, resulting in cyanosis, swelling, purple-red discoloration, blood stasis marks, and pain, decoct Sudan Wood juice and grind real Agarwood (Aquilaria sinensis) to apply to the affected area. Do not let it get wet. Apply continuously for several days; the swelling will naturally dissipate, and recovery will occur. Tested repeatedly with success, truly a miraculous formula. Agarwood is also known as Zijin Teng. It is often prepared in military camps for treating knife and axe injuries.

Borneol (Bingpian) and Musk (Shexiang) each 1.2 li, Cinnabar (Chensha) and Frankincense (oil-free) each 1.2 qian, Safflower (Zihonghua) four qian, Dragon's Blood 1.6 qian, Realgar four qian, Child's Tea 2.4 li, Angelica Sinensis Tail one liang, Myrrh 1.4 qian. The above ten ingredients are ground into fine powder, stored in a porcelain bottle, sealed with yellow wax, preventing the loss of medicinal qi.
1. For contusions and traumatic injuries with subcutaneous and skeletal bruising but unbroken skin, mix with aged vinegar and apply to the affected area to recover.
2. For knife wounds and other instrument injuries with broken skin and bleeding, sprinkle the powder on the wound and bandage it. Avoid wind; stop bleeding and recover.
3. For internal injuries with bone fragmentation or fracture, first align the bone joints accurately. Mix the powder with aged vinegar, apply thickly to the affected area, wrap with paper, cover with old cotton wadding, and support with thin wooden boards. Tie slowly with rope, ensuring no movement. Once the medicinal properties act, the bones will knit naturally. Must rest quietly for one hundred days; if sexual activity occurs, permanent disability will result.
4. For deep knife wounds that have not penetrated the body membrane, suture first with mulberry bark thread, sprinkle generously with powder, and urgently cover with fresh chicken skin. Follow the aforementioned bone injury care method to recover.
5. In cases of unconsciousness due to trauma, urgently administer a small amount dissolved in aged wine to restore consciousness for further treatment.
This formula is miraculous; even in cases of extremely severe injury, few fail to survive. Taking Sanhuang Baola Wan internally afterwards enhances the effect.
