Treats various sores and carbuncles (Yong Ju, abscesses and ulcers) in their initial stage, characterized by no redness, no heat, no swelling, and no pain. The lesion is hard as stubborn stone, stiff as cowhide, colored like earthy cinnabar, with multiple millet-grain-sized pores on the apex that may bleed. The base is flat and scattered, sunken without pus, skin and flesh not rotting, body temperature cool, and pulse fine. Use this formula to warm and disperse: Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Huang Qi (Astragali Radix - inferred from context "Huang"), Gou Qi (Lycii Fructus), Shan Zhu Yu (Corni Fructus), Fu Ling (Poria), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) each 1 qian; Hong Hua (Carthami Flos), Zi Cao (Arnebiae Radix seu Lithospermi Radix), Hou Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Mu Xiang (Aucklandiae Radix) each 5 fen; Wei Jiang (Prepared Ginger) 3 slices, Bai Pi of Zao Jiao Shu Gen (White bark of Soap Tree Root) 2 qian. Decoct with wine and water for oral administration. Cover the sore with thick cotton to keep it warm. Moxibustion is suitable, but acupuncture is not.
Treats back carbuncles (Bei Ju) and other toxic sores, initially hard, numb, and stifling, with constipation and a deep, solid pulse. Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) 1.5 liang, Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) 1 liang. Grind into an extremely fine powder, make pills with water similar in size to mung beans. Take 3-4 qian per dose. Decoct three scallion heads in wine, take the decoction to wash down the pills. Lie quietly under covers to induce sweating. After some time, efficacy is achieved after one or two bowel movements. Afterwards, use Si Jun Zi Tang (Four Gentlemen Decoction) to tonify. For elderly and weak persons, reduce the dose by half, using Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) and fresh ginger decocted in water to wash down the pills. Recovery occurs when sleep and sweating are achieved.
Treats sores, carbuncles, ding toxins, deep-rooted flowing injections, wind-cold-damp bi syndrome, and crane-knee wind. Effective for left hemiplegia, right paralysis, hemiplegia, deviation of mouth and eyes, wandering pain throughout the body, difficult walking, head wind, hernia, tetanus, trismus, cold damage with flu-like symptoms, high fever, and aversion to cold. Preparation: Zhi Cang Zhu (Prepared Atractylodis Rhizoma) 8 liang, Zhi He Shou Wu (Prepared Polygoni Multiflori Radix), Jin Cha Shi Hu (Dendrobii Nobile Caulis - text error "Shi Hu" likely intended), Bei Xi Xin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Chuan Wu (Aconiti Radix), Cao Wu (Aconiti Radix - processed), Quan Xie (Scorpio), Tian Ma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba), Zhi Gan Cao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma). Xian Chan Su (Fresh Toad Venom) 3 qian, 21 large black spiders, Liang Tou Jian Shu Fen (Mouse feces from specific holes) 1 qian, Fei Luo Mian (Sifted Wheat Flour) 6 mian (unit/context unclear, literal translation). Grind uniformly. Boil chrysanthemum to make a paste, strain through cloth to remove dregs. Mix with medicine paste, roll into wheat-grain-sized pills, and dry in shade. Take 7 pills per dose, 5 pills for children. Administer with plain boiled water for upper body conditions, and with wine for lower body conditions.
