When a pregnant woman reaches the seventh or eighth month, the fetus is fully formed. The abdomen becomes distended and full, pressing upon the uterus (Zihu), causing restlessness in sitting and lying down. This condition is termed "Ziman" (Fetal Distension). Use Shutai Yin (Fetus-Binding Decoction): Baizhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), Ziye (Perillae Folium), Zhike (Aurantii Fructus), Dafupi (Arecae Pericarpium) each 1.5 qian; Sharen (Amomi Fructus Rotundus, 5 fen, slightly ground with shell); Zhi Cao (Prepared Licorice Root) 3 fen. Use fresh ginger as a guide, decoct in water, and take on an empty stomach.

If a pregnant woman has scanty urination accompanied by painful and difficult urination, it is termed "Zilin" (Fetal Strangury). Use Jiawei Mutong Tang (Modified Akebia Decoction): Mutong (Akebiae Caulis), Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), Tiaoqin (Scutellariae Radix), Gancao Shao (Licorice Root Tip), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Dangshen (Codonopsis Radix) each 1 qian; Danzhuye (Lophatheri Herba) 15 leaves; Dengxin (Junci Medulla) one pinch. Decoct in water and take on an empty stomach.

When the pregnant woman's qi is sufficient and the fetus makes sounds within the abdomen, it is termed "Ziming" (Fetal Crying). This occurs because the pregnant woman sometimes stretches her body or reaches for objects at a high place, causing the fetus to lose its grip and expel the lump held in its mouth, thus crying. Treatment: Have the pregnant woman perform a bowing motion like a man, or scatter beans on the ground for her to pick up. When the fetus resumes holding the lump, the crying will cease.

This is Zangzao Syndrome (Visceral Agitation). Use Gancao (Licorice Root) 3 liang, Xiaomai (Tritici Fructus) 1 sheng, Dazao (Jujubae Fructus) 10 pieces. Add 6 sheng of water, decoct until 3 sheng remain, remove dregs, divide into three doses, and take warm for immediate effect. Subsequently, take several doses of Zhuru Tang (Bamboo Shavings Decoction) to harmonize the body.
Zhuru Tang: Taidangshen (Codonopsis Radix), Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Fuling (Poria), Zhi Cao (Prepared Licorice Root) each 1 qian; Xiaomai (Tritici Fructus) 1 he; Qingzhuru (Green Bamboo Shavings) one ball the size of a chicken egg; Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) 3 slices; Dazao (Jujubae Fructus) 5 pieces. Decoct in water and take after meals.

This condition arises because the Shaoyin blood vessels nourish the fetus downward and cannot ascend to moisten the tongue. After childbirth, speech returns naturally; this is not a disease, and medication should not be administered. Do not believe quacks who prescribe medicine for profit; simply nourish the body through diet.

This occurs because blood nourishes the fetal sac, but the mother lacks sufficient spirit/qi to support the pregnancy, leading to blurred vision and sudden fainting. Medication is unnecessary; simple dietary nourishment suffices.

The formula from the previous eight chapters applying Wu Zhu Yu (Evodiae Fructus) to the soles of the feet is most excellent. It is crucial to wash off the application once the fetus is stabilized.

Two Si Gua (Luffae Fructus, also known as Shuigua or Xiangua), decocted in water and taken orally, will cure the condition. If Si Gua is unavailable, its vine may be used, or Baosheng Wuyou Fang (Life-Preserving Peaceful Pregnancy Formula) is most suitable.

Taking Baosheng Wuyou Fang (Life-Preserving Peaceful Pregnancy Formula) will stop the bleeding immediately.
Another prescription: Take a piece of Bala (Beeswax) the size of an egg, boil it three or five times, mix with good wine, and take orally for immediate recovery. Avoid eating chicken for ten days.
Another prescription: Wubeizi powder (Galla Chinensis), mixed with wine and taken orally in a dose of 2 qian, yields miraculous effects.
