White throat wind (Baise Houfeng), this condition is caused by cold enveloping latent fire, stagnating in the Lung meridian. Use Liuwei Tang (Six-Ingredient Decoction) added with Ge Gen (Puerariae Radix) 2 qian, Ma Huang (Ephedrae Herba) 1 qian, Su Ye (Perillae Folium) 1 qian, Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) 5 fen, Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix) 1.5 qian, Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) and Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) each 1 qian. After one or two doses, simultaneously administer one dose of Bawei Shenxian San (Eight-Ingredient Divine Immortal Powder), taken down with saliva. Once the affected area turns red, change the prescription to include Yan Chao Yuan Shen (Saline-fried Scrophulariae Radix) 2 qian, Jiu Chao Huang Qin (Wine-fried Scutellariae Radix) 2 qian, Chao Shan Zhi (Stir-fried Gardeniae Fructus) and Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis) each 1 qian. Two more doses will lead to complete recovery. Purple throat wind (Zise Houfeng) is treated similarly.
