Treats contusions, knife wounds, and conditions such as dog bites causing ulcerated feet. Take one *jin* (approx. 500g) of calcined stone (*Duan Shi*) that has been weathered and calcined for many years, stir-fry until it turns the color of peach blossoms while preserving its efficacy, add one *liang* (approx. 30g) of *Jinwen Dahuang* (Rhubarb with brocade patterns), bake until crisp, and grind into powder. Mix the above medicines with pure sesame oil (*Mazhi*) and apply to the affected area; applying on the same day is more effective.
Treats contusions, knife, and arrow wounds. Take one *qian* (approx. 3g) each of human nail ash (*Ren Zhijia Hui*) and charred hair (*Xueyu Tan*), five *qian* (approx. 15g) of aged pine resin (*Chen Songxiang*), and one raw dog head (scraped clean of meat, roasted over open fire until preserved in nature). Grind all ingredients into fine powder and sprinkle on the wound; broken bones will reconnect, and knife wounds will heal. Alternatively, it can be taken with wine.
For sprains or strains, immediately go to a windless place, insert a paper twist into the nose to induce sneezing forcefully twenty to thirty times, so that qi rises and pain stops naturally. Then, crush walnut meat (*Hetao Rou*) and pour it into hot wine, drink until drunk, and recover.
Another prescription: Use half juice of Chinese chives (*Jiucai*) and half urine of a healthy child (*Tongbian*), mix with hot wine and drink until drunk. For fractures or dislocations, soak and wash externally with vinegar residue soup, endure the pain while applying the powder, bind with bamboo or wood strips, and urgently find *Dibiechong* (Eupolyphaga sinensis), roast until crisp, grind into powder, and take with wine.
Another formula: Treats all kinds of contusions, bruises, swelling throughout the body, pain caused by blood stasis, and internal injuries from falls. Use three *qian* and five *mace* (approx. 12g) of *Guiwei* (Tail of Angelica Sinensis), one *qian* and five *mace* (approx. 6g) each of *Ruxiang* (Frankincense, de-oiled), *Moyao* (Myrrh, de-oiled), *Chensha* (Cinnabar, water-triturated), *Xuejie* (Dragon's Blood, vinegar-fried on tile), and *Ercha* (Catechu, ground and baked on tile); use one *liang* (approx. 30g) of *Sheng Dihuang* (Fresh Rehmannia Root). Crush and extract the juice, mix with good wine, and take two to three times a day for best effect. Alternatively, crush, steam until cooked, and apply as a poultice to the injury; bones and tendons will connect within two days. This is because *Dihuang* enters the bone category.
Another formula: Also treats metal blade wounds. Use chicken bone charcoal (*Jigu Tan*, specifically long and hard strip charcoal) and brown sugar (*Hongtang*). The amount of charcoal used should be approximately eight *liang* depending on the size of the wound...
If the skin is broken and bleeding does not stop, apply the white membrane inside a dried gourd (*Baihu Lu*) to the wound, then apply medicine on top.
For injuries that do not penetrate the fascia/membrane, use amounts of *Ruxiang* and *Moyao* equivalent to a soap bean (*Zaojiaozi*), grind into a paste, decoct with half a cup of urine and half a cup of good wine until reduced to half a cup, and take warm. Then, apply powder made from cuttlefish bone (*Wuzheyu Gu*) or dragon bone (*Longgu*) to the wound, and it will heal.
