The lower abdomen is tense and full, the urge to urinate is present but urine cannot be discharged, and after voiding there are often residual drops; this is Qi Lin (Qi Strangury). Its treatment method is the same as that of Lao Lin (Fatigue Strangury) mentioned above.
Another prescription: Take one liang of the green grassy tips from sugarcane, decoct with wine, and take orally. It will be completely cured in three days, with extremely effective results.
Urine is hot and red, scanty and difficult to pass, accompanied by urgent pain below the umbilicus; this is Shi Lin (Stone Strangury). Use Liuqian Li (Talcum, 6 qian) and Gancao Mo (Licorice Root Powder, 1 qian), mix with water and take orally. Take several times a day, and it will be cured in three days. Additionally, all the prescriptions involving pig intestine, river snail, garden snail, and earthworm found in the previous section on "Urinary Retention" can resolve heat toxicity and are all suitable for use, with great efficacy.
Blood spots or blood streaks appear in the urine; this is Xue Lin (Blood Strangury). Use Wuqian Douchi (Fermented Soybean, 5 qian), decoct and take orally. Even if the pain is unbearable, it yields miraculous effects. Alternatively, the Niuxi Prescription for Lao Lin is also effective.
Another prescription: Xiaomai (Triticum aestivum L. seed), stir-fried with Tongbian (Child's Urine), ground into fine powder, mixed with white sugar, and taken at a dose of 5 qian. Cured after one dose.

Washao (Petrocoptis songarica) (a rootless herb growing on roof tiles) is decocted into a thick soup. While hot, fumigate and wash the lower abdomen. Patency is achieved in about two hours.
Another prescription: Yinxiao (Silver Nitrate), placed in a pot, stir-fried over paper until the paper is charred, then ground into fine powder. Dissolve in warm water. Original text: 'Zai jia Huashi er qian'. Translating as Talcum).
