Zelan (Lycopus lucidus Herba) 1 liang, Guangjiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin, processed into beads) 5 qian, Baiji (Bletilla striata Rhizome) 3 qian. Decoct with half wine and half water, take orally; sweating indicates recovery. For lesions in the upper body, add Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) 3 qian; for lesions in the lower body, add Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) 3 qian. Take continuously for several doses until swelling subsides and pain stops. Even for severe conditions like Fabei (Back Carbuncle), remarkable efficacy is observed.
Another prescription: Take one large Gualou (Trichosanthes kirilowii Fruit), cut off a piece from the top, hollow out the seeds completely, insert a large clump of greasy, tangled hair scraped from a woman's wooden comb, then add Sheng Mingfan (Raw Alum) 3 qian, filling it to capacity. Replace the cut piece to cover the opening. Wrap the entire fruit in yellow mud, place on a new tile, and roast over low fire until "preserving nature" (charred but retaining medicinal properties). Remove the mud, grind into fine powder, and administer with yellow rice wine. For un-ulcerated sores, internal resolution occurs; for those about to ulcerate, pus is discharged and wounds heal. Severe cases may recover within three doses.
Yet another prescription: Use only Baiji (Bletilla striata Rhizome), quantity unspecified. Grind into fine powder, stir with warm water, let settle, discard the supernatant water, spread on cotton paper, and apply as a patch.
Yet another prescription: Mix Zhu Danzhi (Porcine Bile), Shengjiang Zhi (Ginger Juice), and Fengmi (Honey) each half a wine cup. Blend uniformly and continuously smear around the periphery of the lesion; it will subside overnight.
Yet another prescription: Mash fresh Niubangzi Genye (Arctii Lappa Root and Leaf) and apply externally.
Yet another prescription: Burn Qiyehuajing (Vitex negundo var. heterophylla, using only seven-leaf variety) leaves or stems to ash while preserving medicinal properties. Mix with Mayou (Sesame Oil) and apply. If the sore is moist, sprinkle the dry powder directly onto the wound. This treats... [text fragment].
Yet another prescription: For treating Wuming Zhongdu (Nameless Swelling and Toxic Sores), use Dahuang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) 3 liang, Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) 3 liang, Huangbai (Phellodendri Cortex) 3 liang, and Chen Xiaofen (Stir-fried Rice Flour) 2 liang. Stir-fry all herbs until black, grind into fine powder, mix with vinegar, and apply externally.
Congbai (Scallion White) 1 jin, Duanshi (Calcined Alumen) 2 jin, Machixian (Portulacae Herba) 1 jin. Pound these three ingredients wet into a paste, form into cakes, dry in shade, grind into fine powder, mix, and apply to the sore.
Machixian (Portulacae Herba), also known as Changming Cai (Longevity Vegetable). Whether taken internally or applied externally, it can detoxify hundred poisons. Fresh ones are pounded into paste; dried ones can be soaked in water and boiled into paste.
To treat Yangmeichuang (Syphilis/Chancre) spreading all over the body resembling leprosy, with a hard throat like a pipe: Use a large handful of Machixian (Portulacae Herba), decoct with wine or water, take orally, cover with blankets to induce sweating for recovery. Also pound into paste for external application.
To treat Fabei (Back Carbuncle) various toxic sores and Dingdu (Carbuncle/Furuncle): Use Machixian (Portulacae Herba) 0.5 jin, decoct with wine and water. First dose induces sweating, second dose reduces fever, third dose eliminates swelling and achieves full recovery. Continue applying mashed paste externally.
To treat chronic stubborn swollen sores that are painful and fail to heal: Apply Machixian (Portulacae Herba) paste frequently, changing once daily. After several days, when swelling subsides and necrotic tissue is gone, and red granulation tissue appears like pearls, switch to other flesh-regenerating medicines.
To treat Dandu (Erysipelas) and hot sores with facial swelling and tight lips: Pound to extract thick juice and apply frequently.
To treat Touxie (Tinea and Scabies) with extreme itching where no medicine works: Extract juice and take orally for immediate relief.
To treat sores below the umbilicus in men and women, with pain and itching radiating to the genitalia: Use 4 liang of Machixian paste mixed with 1 liang Qingdai (Indigo Naturalis), warm it, and apply to the affected area.
To treat Shixuan (Damp Tinea) and Baitu (White Ringworm/Alopecia): Pound into paste, add 1 part fried red Duanshi (Calcined Alumen), mix and apply. If it dries, re-moisten with juice.
