This condition is named Qing Tui Ya Gan (Green Leg and Gum Gangrene). In this syndrome, the legs resemble cloud patterns, appearing either red or cyan, varying in size, accompanied by pain, swelling, and induration, making walking difficult. The pathogenic toxin attacks upward, causing gum necrosis, and even perforating the cheeks and lips; speaking loudly also induces pain. Treat it according to the various formulas for Zou Ma Ya Gan (Running Horse Gum Gangrene) mentioned previously. For the swollen areas on the legs, apply Qing Liang Gao (Cooling Ointment) (see Section on Burns and Scalds), which yields miraculous effects. Alternatively, puncture the area with a porcelain edge to release blood, apply slices of beef, change several times a day, which is highly effective.
Another prescription: A patient suffered from this disease for eight years without relief. A beggar Taoist priest applied moxibustion at the fleshy tip beside the ear opening, using a slice of garlic as an intermediary, burning five times consecutively, resulting in immediate cure, which was extremely miraculous. If pain is on the left, burn the right; if on the right, burn the left; or burn both ears entirely, all yielding extraordinary efficacy. Alternatively, one may skip the garlic and use a lamp flame directly, which is also effective.
When the tooth roots are ulcerated and even the teeth and alveolar bone fall out globally, one must use Jin Su Dan (Golden Sulphur Pill) (see Formulas for Carbuncles and Toxins), mix it onto cotton paper, roll it into a paper wick, and insert it into the tooth root.
Severe swelling, redness, and pain are named Ya Yong (Gum Abscess). Puncture to release toxic blood, then insufflate Zhen Zhu San (Pearl Powder); insufflation is optional. Internally administer Long Dan Xie Gan Tang (Gentian Decoction to Drain the Liver) (see Internal and External Reserve Formulas), leading to recovery. If there is pain in the alveolar bone and inside the cheeks without swelling or redness, radiating to the facial bones, it is named Gu Cao Feng (Bone Trough Wind); the treatment method is described later.
This is named Gu Cao Feng (Bone Trough Wind), belonging to Yin Ju (Yin Abscess). Initially mistaken for toothache, excessive intake of cooling medicines leads to worsening, with necrosis extending to the tooth roots and throat, becoming incurable. For those not yet ulcerated, it is suitable to decoct Er Chen Tang (Two-Cured Decoction) with Yang He Wan (Yang Harmony Pills) orally, or take Yang He Tang (Yang Harmony Decoction) to dissipate the condition. For those already ulcerated, alternate between Yang He Tang (Yang Harmony Decoction) and Xi Huang Wan (Rhino Horn Pill) morning and evening. If multiple dead bones remain inside, insufflate Tui Che San (Cartoon-Pushing Powder); overnight, the dead bones will emerge spontaneously without pain. After all bones are expelled, insufflate Sheng Ji San (Flesh-Regenerating Powder), and internally administer Bao Yuan Tang (Protect the Origin Decoction) augmented with Rou Gui (Cinnamon Bark), Dang Gui (Angelica Sinensis), Chuan Wu (Aconitum Carmichaelii), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmannia Root), and Sheng Gan Cao (Raw Licorice) to conclude treatment. This has been repeatedly tested and proven miraculous. This is the experienced and miraculous formula of Linwu Shanren. Various formulas can be found in sections on Carbuncles and Toxins, Yin Abscesses, and Internal/External Reserve Formulas; Tui Che San is found in the section on Multiple Bone Carbuncles.
