Regarding the symptoms, they arise because women with irritable temperances may suffer trauma from sexual intercourse during menstruation, resulting in a lump the size of an egg forming in the hypochondrium on either side. Menstruation ceases, transforming into five-palm heat (feverish sensation in palms, soles, and chest), headache, dim vision, cough with phlegm. If untreated for half a year to a year, leading to emaciation and diarrhea, it becomes difficult to treat. One should first clear heat using Xiaoyao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder).
Xiaoyao San: Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), Baizhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae), Baishao (Radix Paeoniae Alba), Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong), Chaihu (Radix Bupleuri), Huafen (Radix Platycodi) each 8 fen; Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix) 6 fen; Bohe (Menthae Haplocalycis Herba) 4 fen; Digupi (Cortex Lycii) and Shilianrou (Semen Nelumbinis) each 1 qian; Dancao (Radix Gentianae) 5 fen. Decoct in water, take on an empty stomach. For stopping cough, use Ziwan Tang (Aster Decoction).
Ziwan Tang: Xingren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum, peeled and tip removed) 1.5 qian; Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini, fried and ground) 8 fen (add to decoction when ready); Baitsangpi (Cortex Mori, honey-fried), Zhimu (Rhizoma Anemarrhenae). Decoct in water.
Regarding the symptoms, they arise from consuming raw or cold fruits during menstruation or postpartum; blood stagnates upon contact with water. Initially, for one or two months, there are alternating chills and fever, five-palm heat and irritability. When Spleen Earth is robust, menstruation flows naturally. If untreated for half a year, it transforms into bone-steaming fever, facial flushing at Zi and Wu hours (midnight and noon), muscle emaciation, and incessant diarrhea; urgent treatment is required. If the condition is severe, urgently administer 3 li of Opium, taken with Licorice Decoction, which has miraculous effects of reviving the dying. It is suitable to take Xiaoyao San and Ziwan Tang.
Regarding the symptoms, menstruation stops halfway without complete expulsion of blood, causing abdominal pain, possibly transforming into tidal fever, or having no fever. One must break up the remaining blood stasis; once heat subsides and pain settles, Honghua San (Carthamus Decoction) is suitable.
Honghua San: Zhike (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus) 6 fen; Honghua (Flos Carthami, fried) 1 qian; Niuxi (Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae), Danggui, Sumu (Lignum Sappan), Chishao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra), Sanleng (Rhizoma Sparganii), Ezhu (Rhizoma Curcumae) each 8 fen, Chuan... [Text cuts off]
Menstruation lasting more than half a month indicates reckless bleeding. Ask if the woman has excessively consumed pepper and ginger foods? This is a heat syndrome, suitable for using Jinju San (Golden Constrictor Powder).
Jinju San: Xuduan (Radix Dipsaci), Ejiao (fried), Diyü (Herba Siegesbeckiae), Danggui, Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae) each 1 qian; Huangqin, Chuanxiong, Baishao each 8 fen; Shudi (Radix Rehmanniae Preparata)... [Text cuts off]
