Seven soap nuts (Sapindus mukorossi) are burnt until charred, one centipede (Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans), one qian (approx. 3.73g) each of realgar (Realgar) and lead monoxide (Litharge), and one eggshell are ground together into powder. This is mixed with egg white (Ovi Albumen) and applied to the affected area for immediate cure.

Equal parts of Arisaema cum Bile (Arisaematis Rhizoma Praeparatum), Pinellia Tuber (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Aconitum Root (Aconiti Radix), and pig brain marrow are mashed together and applied. Leave the top of the sore uncovered for a cure.

The flesh of dried plum (Mume Fructus) is burnt to ash while retaining its medicinal properties, then ground into powder and applied to necrotic tissue. It will be cleared in one night, or a small amount of calomel (Hydrargyri Chloridum Mite) may be added.

Fresh Purslane (Portulacae Herba) is mashed and applied; three applications result in a cure.

Winter melon leaves (Benincasae Folium) are dried in the shade, baked on tiles, and ground into fine powder. If the sore is moist, sprinkle directly. Alternatively, aged calcined gypsum (Calcii Sulfas Preparatus) is ground fine, mixed with egg white to form a cake, calcined by fire, cooled, ground again, and applied with ginger juice (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens Juice).

Alternatively, root bark of Goji berry (Lycii Cortex) is ground fine. After washing the sore with salted tea water, sprinkle dry. Purslane (Portulacae Herca) or dandelion (Taraxaci Herba) can also be mashed and applied.

Mercury (Hydrargyrum), seed kernel of big leaf croton (Crotonis Fructus), oil walnut kernel (Juglandis Semen), and candle wax (Cera Flava) are each taken in amounts of three qian (approx. 11.2g), ground, and made into five pills. Each night, roll one pill over the heart region; this benefits the whole body.

One pair of the oldest, dirtiest shoes and two types of the oldest, most aged silk cotton floss are burnt to ash. After cooling, big leaf croton seed kernel (Crotonis Fructus) is ground into powder. These are mixed evenly with sesame oil (Sesami Oleum) and applied. If the sore is moist, sprinkle dry powder. This is effective for any abscess sores (Nongwo Chuang) on adults or children, characterized by flowing yellow fluid, unceasing itching, and endless spreading.

Another prescription: Palace powder (Gongfen, likely refined lead oxide or bismuth subcarbonate) one liang (approx. 37.3g) is stir-fried until black, and borneol (Borneolum Syntheticum) three fen (approx. 0.94g) are ground together into powder and applied.

In a case where moxibustion was performed for five moxa cones (Zhuang), bleeding continued profusely like urine, and the hands became cold as if lifeless. Two qian (approx. 7.46g) of Scutellaria Root (Scutellariae Radix) fried in wine were ground into powder, taken with wine, and the bleeding stopped immediately.

A thick slice of fresh pork is cut and applied to the site, secured tightly with a cloth bandage to prevent movement. The bleeding stops, followed by administration of blood-nourishing and heat-clearing herbs.

For any bleeding from acupuncture scar sites or unceasing bleeding from blood vessels, applying hot yellow ox hide (Bovis Corium) via baking/warming stops the bleeding.

For bleeding from hair follicles, nail pieces (Chelonae Carapax et Plastrum or similar keratinous material) are stir-fried until pearl-like, ground into fine powder, sprinkled dry, bound with silk cloth, and the bleeding stops. Subsequently, taking several doses of Blood-Nourishing Decoction (Bu Xue Tang) leads to recovery.
