Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) and Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), each 1 qian, together with Sophorae Flavescentis Radix (Kushen) and Schizonepetae Herba (Jingjie), each 2 qian, are decocted in water and taken on an empty stomach.
Alternatively, wood ear mushroom (Mu'er), green vegetables, and porcine large intestine (Zhu Dachang) are boiled together; frequent consumption is most beneficial.
Another prescription: Half a Chinese water chestnut (Biqi) and half a red date (Hongzao) are cooked thoroughly and consumed along with the soup.
Another prescription: Dried luffa fruit (Sigua) after frost is burnt until charred but retaining its medicinal properties, ground into powder, and taken with wine on an empty stomach, 2 qian per dose.
Another prescription: Two fresh persimmons (Shizi) have their stems and cores removed with a bamboo knife; cotton seeds are stuffed inside, covered, and burnt on tiles until charred but retaining properties, then ground into powder and taken with hot rice gruel (Miyin).
Another prescription: Seven dark plums (Wumei) are boiled with half a jin of hot porcine blood; the plums are discarded, and no salt is added.
Another prescription: Coarse toilet paper is burnt to ash, mixed with granulated sugar, and taken with boiling water.
Additionally, for bleeding due to alcohol toxicity: Five large river snails are burnt until shells are white and meat is dry, ground into powder as a single dose, and taken with hot wine.
Another prescription: For bleeding after defecation, Artemisiae Argyi Folium (Aiye) and Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens (Shengjiang) are decocted in water and taken.
This pattern belongs to Wind-Heat. Ash from dried persimmon (Shigan) is taken with rice gruel, 2 qian per dose.
Another prescription: Cottonseed (Mianhuahe) and Sophorae Flos (Huaihua), equal parts, are stir-burnt until black, formed into pills using Wumei water and aged wine. Each day, 3 qian are taken with Wumei decoction.
Additionally, for persistent bleeding with critical condition: Luffa fruit (Sigua) burnt to retain properties is powdered, and Sophorae Flos (Huaihua) is halved and powdered. Each time, 2 qian are taken with rice gruel on an empty stomach; this is extremely effective.
Additionally, for persistent bleeding, drinking one's own urine, named Hui Long Tang (Return Dragon Decoction), is extremely effective.
Another prescription: One porcine intestine (Zhuchang) is washed clean; Sophorae Flos (Huaihua) stir-burnt and powdered is inserted into the intestine, both ends tied, and boiled until soft with vinegar. Pills the size of Sophora seeds (Wuzi) are made. Each dose is thirty pills, taken with warm wine; all are extremely miraculous.

When a child is just born, it is like a plant sprouting; vital energy has just arrived, and the constitution is weak and fragile. Methods for nurturing and growth must be clearly understood beforehand so that the child may grow tall like a towering tree; therefore, care methods for newborns should be comprehensive.
If the newborn cannot make sound, it is sometimes called "dream birth"; the umbilical cord must not be cut immediately. Wrap the infant in cotton clothes, burn a thick oil-paper wick to fumigate the umbilicus, or use a paper wick with mugwort fire to fumigate back and forth below the umbilical cord, allowing warmth to enter the abdomen until the infant can gradually cry; this is suitable for cold weather.
Currently, some wrap the infant in cotton clothes and additionally warm the umbilicus with hot water; once Yang Qi connects, the infant can be delivered safely, with almost no failure.
Additionally, it may be caused by difficult labor where cold forces Qi closure. Gently whip the back with scallion white (Congbai) to awaken and unblock Qi; do not cut the umbilical cord yet, and also fumigate below the umbilical cord with a lit oil-paper wick, which is extremely effective.
Additionally, crush fresh Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (Changpu) to extract juice, drip a few drops into the mouth to revive.
Additionally, if a white membrane covers the tongue, or fills the root of the tongue, or there is a membrane under the tongue like a pomegranate seed, or blisters in the mouth prevent crying, urgently scrape the membrane gently with fingernails until blood appears, then apply a small amount of Alum powder (Kufan). If not observed and treated, it may lead to muteness later.
Additionally, for infants who do not cry after difficult labor but have faint breath, blowing the parents' true Qi (breath) onto them can save them.
