Treats all sores, carbuncles, and protruding flesh, regardless of size or length. Use Veratrum nigrum (Lilu) alone, grind into powder, mix with fresh lard to form a paste, apply to the affected area, and change every other day.
For children suffering from sores on the head and face with abundant pus, thick crusts, and itching, known as Sticky Sores (Zhan Chuang), this formula should be used; alternatively, using only Alum (Fan) and Red Lead Dan (Dan) is also effective. If itching occurs with weeping fluid that causes immediate ulceration upon contact, it is called Yellow Water Sores (Huang Shui Chuang). In such cases, use the following formula: Mix Resin (Songxiang), Calcined Alum (Kufan), White Lead Powder (Gongfen), and Flying Cinnabar (Feidan) in equal parts into a powder. Blend with sesame oil for topical application. Using soot from incense smoke is even more effective (scraped from the lid of an incense burner). Another prescription uses Mung Bean (Lv Dou) and Resin (Songxiang) in equal parts, ground into powder and mixed with sesame oil for application, which is highly effective. Internal administration of Jingfang Baidu San (Atractylodes and Saposhnikovia Decoction to Overcome Toxins) may also be used.
Another formula: Mix Yi Yuan San (Benefit the Origin Powder) with a small amount of Calcined Alum (Kufan), blend with sesame oil for topical application.
Apply to treat swelling and toxicity caused by heat accumulation. Mix 1.5 liang of Rhubarb (Dahuang), 1 liang of Bletilla Tuber (Baiji), and 2 liang of Mirabilite (Puxiao) into a powder. Blend with well water for external application; re-moisten with water if it dries out.
Mix Aconitum kusnezoffii (Caowu), Fritillaria (Beimu), Trichosanthes Root (Huafen), Arisaema (Nanxing), and Hibiscus Leaf (Furong Ye) in equal parts into a fine powder. Blend with vinegar and apply around the periphery of the lesion, leaving the center open to allow toxin discharge. Re-moisten with oil if it dries. This is effective for treating various carbuncles, sores, swelling, and toxicity.
Stir-fried Phellodendron Bark (Huangbai) and Stir-fried Aconitum kusnezoffii (Caowu), each 1 liang, are ground into powder. Blend with mouthwash liquid, add a little sesame oil, and apply to the affected area. Re-moisten with water if it dries. (Used for) Carbuncles and sores.
When the disease manifests, the head, face, eyes, and limbs all swell, except for the forehead, fingertips, and ears, which do not swell and show no redness; this characterizes the specific syndrome.
First, clean a toilet bowl thoroughly, pour boiling water into it, cover briefly, then pour the water into a basin to bathe the affected area. After several times, the swelling will subside. Then, crush Plantago Seed Herb (Cheqian Cao), Nine-Mile Fragrant Herb (Jiulixiang), Horse Hoof Fragrant Herb (Mati Xiang), and Goji Seedling (Gouqi Miao, also known as Yanleng Cai) together until mashed. Mix with sesame oil and rub over the entire body from top to bottom.
Another formula: Take raw Cyperi Rhizoma powder (Sheng Xiangfu), mix with cold tea, and take 3 qian orally; recovery follows immediately.
Another formula: Grind mung beans in water, strain the residue, and drink 2-3 bowls; the effect is miraculous. Strictly avoid chicken, fish, raw/cold foods, fried/grilled items, sun exposure, firelight, lamp smoke, and steam; exercise utmost caution!
