立春后庚子日，煮蔓荆汁（即诸葛菜）不拘多少，举家大小人温服，可免时疫。
又方∶六月六日采马齿苋晒干收藏，于元旦日煮熟，盐醋腌食，一年可免时疫。
又方∶马骨一块，装红布小袋内佩带身旁，男左女右。
又方∶每年腊月二十四日五更，取井花水准旦第一汲者，盛净器中，计家中人口多少浸
乳香，至元旦五更煎水，从幼者起至老人，每人以乳香一小块，饮水三口咽下，则不染时症
矣。
又方∶五更时投黑豆一大握于井中，勿使人见，凡饮水家俱无传染。若食河水之处，各
家于每日清晨投黑豆一撮于水缸内，全家无恙。
又方∶雷丸、大黄各四两，飞金箔三十张，朱砂三钱，水飞，生明矾一两，共研末，以
水为丸。乾隆丙子，瘟鬼被雷击，匿于江苏长洲主簿署中，所授此方，服之可免瘟疫，活人
无算，屡试如神。
又方∶贯众一个，白矾一块，放水缸内亦效。
又方∶向东桃枝煎汤，日浴二次，自然不染。
又方∶苍术、雄黄、丹参、桔梗、白术、川芎、白芷、藜芦、菖蒲、皂角、川乌、甘草
、薄荷各五钱，细辛、芜荑各三钱，以上俱用生料，晒干，研末烧熏，可避瘟疫，屡试神验
又方∶红枣二斤，茵陈八两（切碎），大黄八两（切片），共烧烟熏，可免瘟气。
又方∶苍术末，红枣，共捣为丸如弹子大，时时烧之，可免时疫不染。
又方∶凡入病家，用香油调雄黄、苍术末涂鼻，既出，用纸条刺鼻孔取嚏，再饮雄黄酒
一杯，决无传染。
又方∶雄黄研细末，水调，多敷鼻孔中，与病患同床，亦不传染，神方也。
On the Gengzi day after the beginning of spring, boil Vitex juice (Vitex trifolia L., also known as Zhuge Cai) in any quantity. The entire family, young and old, should take it warm to prevent seasonal epidemics.
Another prescription: Collect Portulaca oleracea on the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, dry it, and store it. On New Year's Day, cook it thoroughly, pickle it with salt and vinegar, and consume it. This can prevent seasonal epidemics for a year.
Another prescription: Take a piece of horse bone, place it in a small red cloth bag, and wear it on the person. Men wear it on the left side, women on the right.
Another prescription: On the fifth watch (around 3-5 AM) of the twenty-fourth day of the twelfth lunar month, collect the first draw of well water (Jinghua Shui, surface water from the well). Place it in a clean vessel and soak Frankincense (Ruxiang, Incense of Boswellia tree) according to the number of family members. On the fifth watch of New Year's Day, decoct the water. Starting from the youngest to the oldest, each person holds a small piece of Frankincense in their mouth, drinks three mouthfuls of water, and swallows it. This prevents infection by seasonal pathogens.
Another prescription: At the fifth watch, throw a large handful of black soybeans into the well without being seen. Any household drinking from this well will not be infected. In areas where river water is consumed, each household should throw a pinch of black soybeans into the water vat every early morning, ensuring the whole family remains safe.
Another prescription: Leiwan (Omphalia lapidescens), Rhubarb (Dahuang, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) each 4 liang; Flying Gold Leaf 30 sheets; Cinnabar (Zhusha, Mineral Cinabaris) 3 qian (processed by water levigation); Raw Alum (Mingfan, Alumen) 1 liang. Grind all into powder, make pills with water. In the Bingzi year of Qianlong's reign, a plague demon was struck by lightning and hid in the office of the Magistrate Assistant of Changzhou, Jiangsu. This formula was transmitted then. Taking it can prevent plagues, saving countless lives; it has been tested repeatedly with miraculous results.
Another prescription: One Cyathula root (Guanzhong, Rhizoma Cibotii) and one piece of Alum (Baijian, Alumen) placed in the water vat are also effective.
Another prescription: Decoct peach branches facing east. Bathe twice daily; naturally, one will not be infected.
Another prescription: Atractylodes (Cangzhu, Rhizoma Atractylodis), Realgar (Xionghuang, Mineral Realgar), Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen, Radix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae), Platycodon (Jiegeng, Radix Platycodonis), Atractylodes macrocephala (Baizhu, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae), Ligusticum chuanxiong (Chuanxiong, Rhizoma Chuanxiong), Angelica dahurica (Baizhi, Radix Angelicae Dahuricae), Veratrum nigrum (Lilu, Rhizoma Veratri Nigri), Acorus tatarinowii (Changpu, Rhizoma Acori Tatarinowii), Gleditsia sinensis (Zaojiao, Fructus Gleditsiae Sinensis), Aconitum carmichaelii (Chuanwu, Radix Aconiti Lateralis Preparata), Licorice (Gancao, Radix Glycyrrhizae Uralensis), and Mint (Bohe, Herba Menthae) each 5 qian; Asarum (Xixin, Herba Asari) and Pyrethrum (Wuyi, Flos Chrysanthemi Indici) each 3 qian. Use all raw materials, dry them, grind into powder, and burn for fumigation. This can ward off plagues and has proven highly effective upon repeated trials.
Another prescription: 2 jin of Red Dates (Hongzao, Fructus Jujubae), 8 liang of Artemisia capillaris (Yinchen, Herba Artemisiae Scopariae) (chopped), and 8 liang of Rhubarb (Dahuang, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei) (sliced). Burn together for fumigation to avoid plague qi.
Another prescription: Powdered Atractylodes (Cangzhu, Rhizoma Atractylodis) and Red Dates (Hongzao, Fructus Jujubae) are pounded together and made into pills the size of marbles. Burning them occasionally prevents seasonal epidemics.
Another prescription: When entering a sick person's home, mix Realgar (Xionghuang, Mineral Realgar) and powdered Atractylodes (Cangzhu, Rhizoma Atractylodis) with sesame oil and apply to the nostrils. Upon exiting, use a paper strip to stimulate the nostrils to sneeze, then drink a cup of Realgar wine. Transmission will definitely be prevented.
Another prescription: Grind Realgar (Xionghuang, Mineral Realgar) into fine powder, mix with water, and apply generously inside the nostrils. Even sleeping in the same bed as a patient, one will not be infected. This is a miraculous prescription.
