Seven Gardenia fruits (Gardeniae Fructus), seven apricot seeds (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), ground into fine powder, mixed with one egg white, and an appropriate amount of distilled liquor and wheat flour added to form a thick paste. Apply this paste to the affected area; if blue fluid is drawn out after overnight, it will heal.

For initial contusions causing swelling and pain, this same paste can be applied. Alternatively, use Frankincense (Boswelliae Resina), Myrrh (Myrrhae Resina), Red Halloysite (Halisoxi Argilla), Angelica dahurica (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Notopterygium root (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Angelica pubescens (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), and Talcum (Talcum), grind them into fine powder, and mix with sesame oil for external application.

Alum (Alumen), White Beeswax (Cera Flava), and Lead Powder (Plumbum Rubrum), each in equal parts, ground into powder and applied topically yields immediate results.

To treat a broken head wound: Use eight qian of premium white honey, five qian each of aromatic Notopterygium root (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), raw Gypsum Fibrosum (Gypsum Fibrosum), and Rhubarb (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma), and one liang of aged Calcined Alum (Alumen Ustam). Roast the alum on a yin-yang tile until red, then mix all into a fine powder for topical application.

Five qian of Dragon Bone (Ossis Femoris) calcined by fire, Huarui Stone (Lapis Huaruiensis) in proportion, one qian each of Frankincense (Boswelliae Resina) and Myrrh (Myrrhae Resina) (de-oiled), one liang of Gypsum Fibrosum (Gypsum Fibrosum), two qian of Calomel (Hydrargyri Chloridum Mite), and Lingcao (herb name unspecified, likely a local or specific herb), mixed with sesame oil. Ground Cicada Slough (Cicadae Periovarium) mixed with scallion juice applied to broken skin immediately expels foul discharge and yields immediate results.
Another prescription: Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) and Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), ground into powder, taken internally and applied externally, is extremely effective.

Red Peony Root (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Peach Kernel (Persicae Semen), Arisaema (Arisaematis Rhizoma), Licorice (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Angelica sinensis (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Pulsatilla (Pulsatillae Radix), Gentian Macrophylla (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix), Achyranthes Bidentata (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), Notopterygium root (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Poria (Polyporus), Acanthopanax (Acanthopanacis Cortex), Clematis (Clematidis Radix et Rhizoma), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Angelica dahurica (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), and Moutan Bark (Moutan Cortex), with Ginger Peel (Zingiberis Pericarpium) as a guide, decocted in water and taken orally for two doses.

One qian each of Notopterygium root (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Ligusticum chuanxiong (Chuanxiong Rhizoma), Saposhnikoviae Radix (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Ligusticum wallichii (Ligustici Wallichii Rhizoma), Angelica sinensis (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), and Peony Root (Paeoniae Radix), decocted in water and taken orally. If there is internal heat and constipation, add one qian and three fen of Rhubarb (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) for self-evident efficacy.

Four liang of Minium (Minium) that has been levigated, two liang of Borneolum Syntheticum (Borneolum Syntheticum), ground into fine powder and stored in a porcelain bottle. For injuries, mix one or two tea spoons with honey and apply topically.

Four qian of White Beeswax (Cera Flava), five qian of Levigated Calamine (Calamina), five fen of Borneolum Syntheticum (Borneolum Syntheticum), three qian of Borax (Borax), and one qian of Medicinal Pearl (Concha Margaritifera), ground into powder and applied topically. This is the "Universal Divine Prescription."

Five qian each of Ham leg claws and Chinese Gallnut (Galla Chinensis), burned to ash, ground into fine powder and applied topically yields immediate healing.

One liang of Tangerine Peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), five qian of Cibotium Barometz (Cibotii Rhizoma), five qian of Minium (Minium), and two newborn red mice, ground into fine powder. Mix with juice from hundred herbs to form a cake, dry in shade, grind into powder, and apply topically to stop bleeding and relieve pain.
Another prescription: The hair from Cibotium barometz (Cibotii Rhizoma) applied to the broken site stops bleeding, relieves pain, and promotes tissue regeneration.
Another prescription: Raw Alum (Alumen) ground into powder sprinkled on the wound stops bleeding and relieves pain immediately.
Another prescription: Six qian of Raw Pinellia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) and four qian of White Beeswax (Cera Flava), ground into powder and applied topically.
Another prescription: Six qian each of aged Minium (Minium) and aged Calcined Alum (Alumen Ustam), one qian each of Cinnamon Twig (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Frankincense (Boswelliae Resina), Myrrh (Myrrhae Resina), and Ash of Human Hair (Capillus Carbonisatus) (stir-fried until purple), ground together into fine powder.
