The following prescriptions can be used regardless of gender if the condition is not caused by Yin syndrome. After sexual intercourse, whether due to external contraction of wind-cold or internal consumption of cold and raw substances, abdominal pain may occur. In men, the testicles (colloquially referred to as 'egg sacs') retract inward; in women, the nipples retract inward. The hands and feet may become curled and purple-black, or even present with lockjaw.
Moxibustion/Ironing Method:
Another prescription: After sexual intercourse, if the penis retracts inward causing severe colic approaching death, urgently take the pubic hair of the woman involved, burn it to ash, mix with water, and administer orally. Also, drink the water used to wash the vulva. This is an effective emergency rescue prescription; do not refuse due to disgust, as speed is crucial. Delay may render it ineffective.
Another prescription: Take a piece of fine silver, flatten it, and heat it until red-hot. If the patient has not yet expired, place the scalding hot silver on the umbilicus. Then, split open a chicken (keeping the feathers and internal organs intact), wrap it around the silver, secure it tightly with cloth, and press firmly with hands. Recovery will follow. If the person appears dead, remove the chicken for inspection; if the chicken turns greenish and the silver turns black, replace with a new chicken and silver, wrap again, and recovery will ensue. If silver is unavailable, using only a chicken is also effective.
Another prescription: Forty-nine grains of pepper and forty-nine shallots with roots, pound them together into a paste. Add a pinch of soot from the bottom of a cooking pot (also known as Baicaoshuang, preferably collected from burning grass). Pound evenly again. Divide the mixture onto two pieces of cloth: apply one patch to the umbilicus and the other to the glans penis. Tie securely with thread. Recovery will occur shortly.
Another prescription: Forty-nine grains of pepper, one qian of calcined alum (Feifan), and one qian of lead tetroxide (Huandan). Grind into a fine powder. Mix with good wine to form pills. Men should place the pill in the left palm, women in the right palm. Press palms together against the genital opening, holding firmly. Shortly, a dry heat sensation will arise in the abdomen; remain still without shaking. Recovery will follow. This is particularly effective for women.
Another prescription: Apply a cloth to the umbilicus and iron it with a pot of boiling water.
Another prescription: Urgently have a child urinate near the patient's bed. Use your foot (left foot for men, right foot for women) to wet mud with the urine, knead it into a ball, and rub/press it onto the affected area.
Another prescription: Use two qian of gunpowder from military-issue muskets. Grind it finely, and dissolve/administer in boiling water (using hot wine is even better). If vomiting and diarrhea occur, life can be restored. This condition involves cold invading the Three Yin meridians, with life hanging by a thread. Without such fierce medicine to expel cold and restore Yang, emergency rescue is impossible. This prescription has proven highly effective through repeated trials; do not hesitate. Gunpowder from military sources is best; firecracker shop powder is too weak and slow-acting.
Another prescription: Chunyang Jiuku Decoction (Pure Yang Rescue Bitter Soup): One piece of fresh ginger (approximately 2–3 liang, sliced), three he of large black soybeans (stir-fried until cooked). Add three bowls of water and boil together.
Another prescription: Three liang of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), three qian of Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui), one qian each of Caryophylli Flos (Dingxiang) and Evodiae Fructus (Wuyu). Decoct in water and drink. After one dose, Yin cold dissipates and Yang returns; no further doses are needed. This prescription is named Danghan Tang (Cold-Expelling Decoction). Its efficacy lies in the heavy use of Baizhu, which greatly promotes the flow of Qi in the waist and umbilical region. Rougui warms the Fire of the Gate of Vitality (Mingmen). Dingxiang and Wuyu stop vomiting and reverse cold extremities. Thus, Yin-cold pathogens naturally dissipate, leading to recovery after just one dose.
Another prescription: Five qian of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), three liang of Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), one liang of Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata (Fuzi), five qian of Zingiberis Rhizoma (Ganjiang), and six qian of Cinnamomi Cortex (Rougui). Decoct in water and administer urgently. This condition is the most severe and urgent. Without such fierce, heavy-dosed, strongly heating herbs to break through barriers directly, how can one drive out Yin-cold, retrieve the wandering soul, dispel toxic vapors, and recover the Yang soul? Therefore, Renshen is used in small amounts, while Rougui and Fuzi must be used generously. Moreover, in poor households unable to afford ginseng, Baizhu is specifically increased in quantity to guide and support Rougui and Fuzi, completing the task of expelling and sweeping away pathogens, thereby achieving the effect of restoring the soul. If Renshen is unavailable, Korean Ginseng (Gaolishen) can be substituted, or one liang of top-grade Dangling Shen (Dangshen) from Shangdang may be used.
Another prescription: Seven slugs (Kuosu, commonly known as snail slime worms). Mash thoroughly, dissolve in boiling water, strain off the residue, and drink warm. It possesses the power to revive the seemingly dead.
