Bovine milk (Niu Huang Ru), consumed daily, will lead to spontaneous recovery over time.
Refer to this prescription alongside other formulas for treating carbuncles and toxic sores (Yong Du). When a sore appears on the midline of the neck postpartum but grows off-center, it is named "Pian Dui Kou" (Off-center Neck Carbuncle). During summer and autumn, take eggplant calyces (Qie Zi Di) and hang them in a breezy place under the eaves to dry. For patients suffering from Dui Kou carbuncles, place a large copper plate over burning high-quality cedar charcoal until smoke ceases. Then, place the dried eggplant calyces (quantity unspecified) onto the hot charcoal to generate smoke. Have the patient lie supine by the bed, resting their head on a separate chair to expose the sore. Position the copper plate tightly opposite the sore, allowing the smoke from the eggplant calyces to fumigate the area. After some time, the sore will naturally open, and a thread-like stream of red blood will flow into the plate. Do not move the patient, lest the flow be interrupted; wait until the red stream flows out completely and stops on its own, indicating that the toxin has been fully expelled. Subsequently, wash the sore with a decoction of raw Licorice Root (Sheng Gan Cao) and Honeysuckle Flower (Jin Yin Hua), and administer herbal medicine to regulate and tonify Qi and Blood to conclude treatment. This method has proven highly effective through repeated trials.
Another prescription: Take fourteen fresh eggplant calyces and two taels of raw Red Polygonum Multiflorum Root (Sheng Hong He Shou Wu). Decoct and drink for two or three doses. If the sore has not yet ulcerated, it will resolve; if already ulcerated, it promotes pus drainage and flesh regeneration. It is effective even for sores with a base width of eight or nine cun.
Another prescription: Shui Xian Paste (see section on formulas for carbuncles and toxic sores). Whether the sore is ulcerated or not, it has proven miraculous in repeated trials with no failures.
Another prescription: At the initial stage, use seven tips of tender peach leaves. Pound them into a paste using an iron axe and apply topically for immediate cure. The efficacy is supreme.
Another prescription: Apply rotten, soft chicken manure (rooster manure is preferable) several times until cured. Chicken manure is extremely cold in nature and best at neutralizing toxins. Mix with powdered Lychee Seed (Li Zhi He) for topical application.
Another prescription: Grind one qian of Realgar (Ming Xiong) and one tael of Evodia Fruit (Wu Zhu Yu) into powder. Mix with sesame oil heated until cooked and apply topically. For Dui Kou pain unresponsive to other medicines, this application stops pain instantly; it is truly a divine prescription.
Another prescription: For Dui Kou sores with a wide base, lacking redness and pain, or exhibiting only slight pain with dark, dull coloration, this constitutes a Yin Abscess (Yin Ju). Cold-natured medicines must absolutely not be used mistakenly, as this may lead to incurable complications. One must refer to the various prescriptions for treating Yin Abscesses in Volume XI as the primary course of action; do not neglect this.
This condition is named Luo Tou Chuang (Head-Dropping Sore). If red and swollen, treat according to the general methods for Dui Kou and carbuncles/toxic sores (see Volume XI). If the skin color remains unchanged, flat, and not very painful,
