[Guila Dan (Turtle Wax Pill)] Treats all kinds of nameless swelling and toxicity, including duikou sores (carbuncles on the back of the neck), ding sores (hard, deep-rooted boils), fabei (back carbuncle), and liuzhu (flowing abscesses). It is effective regardless of whether the condition is in the initial stage, about to suppurate, or already ulcerated. Take one large blood turtle shell (Xue Guiban) and 1 liang of white wax. Place the turtle shell on a stove to heat it up, then gradually sprinkle the white wax onto it. Once the wax is fully incorporated, the shell will naturally become charred and brittle. Remove it from the fire to cool down, then grind into a fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose, three times daily, mixed with yellow wine. The dosage should be sufficient to induce mild intoxication. After taking the medicine, profuse sweating over the whole body is expected, and the disease will surely heal. This formula is miraculous.
[Shengong Xuoxue Tang (Divine Merit Snow-Melting Decoction)] Treats all kinds of nameless swelling and toxicity with divine efficacy. Use the heaviest Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) at 8 liang, and lighter ones at 2 liang; use the heaviest Baizhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) at 4 liang, and lighter ones at 1 liang; XiaKuca (Prunellae Spica) at 2 liang for heavier cases, and Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) at 1 liang for heavier cases, or 2.5 qian for lighter cases. Decoct with half water and half wine, and take orally. Add Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) for lesions above the neck, and Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix) for lesions below the knees; do not add these for other areas.
Another prescription: Treats yongju (carbuncles and sores), fabei, and all kinds of nameless swelling and toxicity. GuangChenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Sheng Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Guiwei (tail of Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Chishao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Jinyinhua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Binglang (Arecae Semen), Gualouren (Trichosanthis Semen), Baizhi, Chuanxiong, and Wubeizi (Galla Chinensis - burnt to ash but retaining properties, removing fire toxicity) are each used at 5 qian. Taidangshen (Codonopsis Radix) is used at 5 qian. Decoct with five bowls of fresh well water.
Another prescription: Effective for yongju and swollen toxins whether they have formed pus or not. Jinyinhua, Danggui, Sheng Gancaojie (tips of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Tianhuafen (Trichosanthis Radix) are each used at 3 qian; Zaocis Spina (Gleditsiae Sinensis Spina) at 2 qian; nine grains of Sichuan pepper (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium) that are open-mouthed. Decoct with pure wine (wine without sediment/additives) and take orally. If not yet formed, it dissipates the swelling; if already formed, it expels the toxin. It is incomparably effective. For ding toxicity, add Zihuadi Ding (Viola Yedoensis Herba) at 3 qian, and take for three to four doses.
[Yibigou (One Stroke Eraser)] Xionghuang (Realgar), Shexiang (Moschus), Tenghuang (Rhizoma Curcumae Longae), Renzhongbai (Aluminis Crystallis), Fei Chensha (Prepared Cinnabar), Chansu (Toad Venom), Baiji (Bletillae Rhizoma), and Sheng Bailian (Ilandae Rhizoma) are each used at 2 qian, except Xionghuang at 2 liang, Shexiang at 3 qian, Tenghuang at 1 liang, Renzhongbai at 5 qian, Fei Chensha at 2 qian, and Chansu at 1 liang. Grind them into an extremely fine powder. Melt 3 qian of Guangjiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) and mix with the powder to form pills/cakes. When encountering any nameless swelling and toxicity in its initial stage, grind this cake with vinegar and apply it to the affected area. It stops pain and dissipates swelling immediately, with extreme efficacy.
Additionally, for men and women regardless of the season, if there are painful lumps on the body without obvious head/tail (no clear signs of inflammation), take the bark from the root of the Elm tree (Yushu Genpi), pound it until very soft, mix with rice vinegar, and apply to the painful area. Leave a small opening in the center. After one day, if toxic, a small amount of toxin will discharge and the patient will recover; if non-toxic, it will dissipate immediately, showing instant effect.
