Tingli (Semen Lepidii Descurainiae, 12 fen, stir-fried and separately ground), Yuliren (Semen Pruni Armeniacae Amarum, 5 fen), Xingren (Semen Pruni Armeniacae, 3 fen), Han Fangji (Radix Stephaniae Tetrandrae), Chenjupi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, each 4 liang).
Fuling (Poria, 5 liang).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder, mix with refined honey, and make pills the size of wutong seeds. Take 15 pills per dose, administered with a decoction of Shengjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens) and Chenjupi (Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), after meals, twice daily. (From Daozang and Qianjin Suifang; Sun Zhao once presented this formula.)
To treat lung痿 (Lung萎 [Atrophy Syndrome]) caused by injury, resulting in asthma, cough, and hemoptysis.

Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with rice soup, after meals. If there is kidney cough with aversion to wind and floating pulse, Baiqian Tang (White Antecedent Decoction) is suitable; if there is aversion to cold, expectoration of cold froth, frequent urination, and tight pulse, Jiaohong Wan (Red Pepper Pill) is suitable (formula see above); if there is aversion to heat and vexing pain in the bones, Digupi San (Phellodendri Cortex Powder) is suitable.

Additional remarks:
Cough originates from the Lung.
Frequently contracting pathogens leads to asthma,
which is then cough.
The origins of the aforementioned various coughs, although different in etiology, ultimately involve the Qi reaching the Lung before manifesting. If cough occurs not due to seasonal pathogenic invasion, it is because of the decline of Zang-Fu Qi leading to disease.
Annotations:
