Tonify the Liver and Kidneys, benefit Essence and Marrow, nourish Ying (Nutritive Qi) and Wei (Defensive Qi), eliminate Wind-Toxicity, strengthen sinews and bones, brighten the eyes, strengthen Yin, lighten the body, and boost Qi. It treats various disorders of the head and eyes caused by Liver-Kidney Wind-Deficiency.

Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis, 1 liang 5 qian), Bixie (Smilacis Glabrae Rhizoma), Baiziren (Platycladi Semen), Shilongrui (Aconitellum laterale), Zexie (Alismatis Rhizoma, each 3 fen), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex, each 1 liang), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix, 3 fen), Tusizi (Cuscutae Semen, 1 liang), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex, each 3 fen), Lurong (Cervi Cornu Pantotrichum), Bajitian (Morindae Officinalis Radix, each 1 liang).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Use wine to boil wheat paste to form pills the size of a wutong seed. Take 50 pills per dose with warm wine on an empty stomach. Avoid cold, raw, greasy foods, and beef.

Tonify Kidney Qi.
Roucongrong (Cistanche Deserticola), Shihu (Dendrobii Caulis), Wuweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Huangqi (Astragali Membranacei Radix), Danshen (Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Duzhong (Eucommiae Cortex), Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum), Fuling (Poria).
Grind the above ingredients into a coarse powder. Take 3 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of juice from sheep kidneys, decoct until 8 fen remains, filter off the dregs, and take warm.

Treats Cold-Qi attacking the Heart-Mind due to Kidney Deficiency-Cold, causing mental restlessness and confusion, cold limbs, abdominal and hypochondriac distension and pain, and panting.
Chenxiang (Aquilariae Lignum Resinatum), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix), Binglang (Arecae Semen), Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus), Taoren (Persicae Semen), Xiangzi (Foeniculi Fructus), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Roudoukou (Myristicae Semen), Peng'ezhu (Curcumae Phaeocaulis Rhizoma), Awei (Ferulae Resina, wrapped in flour and roasted until cooked), Yuzhu (Corni Fructus, half liang, washed with water).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with refined honey and pound for 30,000 to 50,000 strikes to form pills the size of a wutong seed. Take 30 pills per dose at any time with hot wine.

Treats Stagnant-Qi in the Foot-Shaoyin (Kidney) channel sinking downward, causing swelling, testicular deviation hard as stone, and wandering pain of uncertain location.
Yanhusuo (Corydalis Rhizoma), Haizao (Sargassum), Kunbu (Eckloniae Thallus), Qingju pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Huluba (Trigonellae Foenum-Graeci Semen), Huixiang (Foeniculi Fructus), Chuanlian rou (Toosendan Fructus), Malinhua (Iris Pseudacori Flos, each 1 liang, stir-fried with vinegar), Muxiang (Aucklandiae Radix, half liang).
First, decoct Awei and subsequent ingredients in wine and vinegar until a paste is formed. Allow to cool, add 1 qian of Shexiang (Moschus), mix evenly, then combine with the previous herbs to form pills the size of mung beans. Take on an empty stomach with wine made from burning cotton ash.

Treats Dim Vision due to Liver Deficiency (also known as Rabbit Liver Decoction).
Tu gan (Leporis Hepaticus), Cheqianzi (Plantaginis Semen), Tusizi (Cuscutae Semen, each 2 liang), Baiziren (Platycladi Semen), Shudihuang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata), Fuling (Poria), Xixin (Asari Radix et Rhizoma), Gouqizi (Lycii Fructus), Ruiren (Pruni Armeniacae Semen Amarum, each 1 liang).
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Mix with honey to form pills the size of a wutong seed. Take 20 pills per dose with warm wine; dosage may be increased to 40 pills.
