[General Principle] For contusions, traumatic injuries, and knife wounds, emergency treatment is required; the efficacy of decocting and drinking herbal soup is inferior to that of external application. If surgical intervention requires agility and speed, for critical conditions, it is still advisable to rely specifically on these external therapeutic methods.
For knife wounds resulting in massive blood loss, accompanied by thirst, restlessness, and panting, this indicates the exhaustion of Yin fluids with the floating and dispersal of Yang Qi. The appropriate prescription is Ziyang Yangyang Tang (Nourishing Yin and Nourishing Yang Decoction).
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma, 3 qian) Huang Qi (Astragali Radix, 3 qian) Mai Dong (Ophiopogonis Tuber, 3 qian) Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Fructus, 1 qian) Suan Zao Ren (Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, 3 qian) Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, 4 qian)

The verse states: For knife wounds causing thirst, panting, and restlessness, quickly administer Mai Dong, Wu Wei Zi, and Ren Shen to swallow.
Shu Di, Bai Shao, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Fu Ling, combined with Gan Cao, add Suan Zao Ren to consolidate the True Yuan (Original Essence).
For knife wounds complicated by wind invasion, presenting with swelling, spasms, and convulsions, this is due to Blood deficiency failing to nourish the sinews. The appropriate prescription is Zixue Yanggan Tang (Nourishing Blood and Nourishing Liver Decoction).
Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix, 3 qian) Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 3 qian) Bai Shao (Paeoniae Radix Alba, 2 qian) Zhu Ru (Bambusae Caulis in Taenia, 1.5 qian) Xu Duan (Dipsaci Radix, 2 qian) Qin Jiao (Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix, 1.5 qian)

Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus, 3 qian) Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, 1 qian)
Externally, apply fried powder of Cong Bai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus) and Chan Tui (Cicadae Periostracum) to wrap the wound.
The verse states: Complications from knife wounds arise from wind injury; Qin Jiao, Xu Duan, Xuan Shen, Dang Gui, Sheng Di, and Bai Shong work together to unblock.
Mai Dong, Zhu Ru, Jiang Can, Gou Teng, Huang Qin, Gan Cao, and Su Geng are taken internally, while Hua Fen is used alongside Chan Tui and Cong Bai externally.
For knife wounds that ulcerate, suppurate, and discharge pus continuously, this is due to Blood stasis transforming into pus. The appropriate preparation is Tinong Huayu San (Pus-Extracting and Stasis-Resolving Powder).
Hua Rui Shi (Floris Arsenici Rubri, 1.5 qian) Ru Xiang (Olibanum, 1.5 qian) Mo Yao (Myrrha, 1.5 qian) Long Gu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi et Scapulae, 2 qian)
Grind Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum) into fine powder and insert it into the wound; externally apply Yinggan Gao (Miraculous Response Plaster).
The verse states: For ulcerated knife wounds with continuous fluid discharge, combine Ru Xiang, Mo Yao, and Hua Rui Shi.
Add Bing Pian and Long Gu; grind these five ingredients finely, and oral administration can help close the wound.
For pain in the limbs, head, and face due to contusions and traumatic injuries, this indicates the presence of dead Blood (stasis) in the meridians. The appropriate prescription is Tongyu Dazhi Tang (Unblocking Stasis and Removing Obstruction Decoction).

The verse states: For contusions injuring the head and limbs, use Hong Hua, Gui Wei, Bai Shao, Jing Jie, and Chuan Xiong.
Tao Ren, Zi Su, Ru Xiang, Mo Yao, Qiu Yin, Dan Pi, and Xu Duan, treated with Tong Bian (Child's Urine), Zi Ran Tong, Zhu Ru, and Gan Cao.
For pain in the waist, abdomen, chest, and back due to contusions and traumatic injuries, this indicates the presence of dead Blood (stasis) within the membranes. The appropriate prescription is Huayu Zhuxue Tang (Resolving Stasis and Expelling Blood Decoction).
Pu Huang (Typhae Pollen, 1.5 qian) Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex, 1.5 qian) Ling Zhi (Trogopterori Faeces, 1.5 qian) Chi Shao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, 1.5 qian) Tao Ren (Persicae Semen, 2 qian) Gui Wei (Radix Angelicae Sinensis Cauda, 2 qian)

Combine two types of Shao (Chi Shao and Bai Shao), Tao Ren, Niu Xi, and Xu Duan; decoct Jing Jie, Ling Zhi, Gan Cao, and Tong Bian to a thick consistency.
For contusions and traumatic injuries causing swelling and pain anywhere, the goal is to dissipate Blood stasis to resolve the swelling. The appropriate preparation is Huowei Jiudiao San (Fire-Warmed Wine-Mixed Powder).
Guan Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex, 4 fen) Ding Xiang (Caryophylli Flos, 10 pieces) Xiao Hui Xiang (Foeniculi Fructus, 8 fen) Hong Mi (Red Rice, 8 fen) Huo Jiu (Strong Alcohol, 1 cup) Ba Jiao Hui Xiang (Illicii Fructus, 8 fen)
Add a small amount of water, heat over fire (fire-warm), apply as a hot compress, and wrap with cloth.

Grind Ba Jiao Hui Xiang with Hong Mi, and mix with a little wine for application.
(Commentary by Bo'an: In gynecology, fetal delivery is most critical; pediatric diseases change rapidly, and external injuries often present with emergencies. It is advisable to send patients to local medical institutions for examination and treatment. Although the content in this book has merit, do not rely on it exclusively to avoid self-harm.)
