Formula: Shanyao Wan (Dioscorea Pill)
Renshen (Ginseng), Shanyao (Dioscorea), Fuling (Poria), Shengdihuang (Rehmannia Root), Zexie (Alisma), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia), each 1 liang.
Grind the above herbs into fine powder, refine honey to make pills, sized like paulownia seeds. Take 3 qian on an empty stomach, delivered with tea infusion.
Clause: For the excess syndrome of Huangfeng (yellow wind) that has already formed, Tongpi Xiewei Tang (Decoction for Unblocking the Spleen and Draining the Stomach) must be used. This formula consists of Zhimu (Anemarrhena), Dahuang (Rhubarb), Huangqin (Scutellaria), Chongweizi (Leonurus Seed), Shigao (Gypsum), Zhizi (Gardenia), Heishen (Scrophularia, also known as Xuanshen), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia).
Formula: Tongpi Xiewei Tang (Decoction for Unblocking the Spleen and Draining the Stomach)
Zhimu (Anemarrhena) 1 qian, Dahuang (Rhubarb) 1 qian, Huangqin (Scutellaria) 1.5 qian, Chongweizi (Leonurus Seed) 1 qian, Shigao (Gypsum) 2 qian, Zhizi (Gardenia) 1 qian, Heishen (Scrophularia) 1 qian, Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia) 1 qian.

Clause: A sheet of yellow membrane arises from the Qi Lun (white part of the eye, corresponding to the Lung), rushing upwards into the Feng Lun (black part of the eye, corresponding to the Liver) and covering the pupil. Symptoms include redness, dryness, tearing, ocular discharge, and severe pain. This is caused by Wind-Heat attacking from the Spleen and Stomach.
Treatment involves Tongpi Xiewei Tang (Decoction for Unblocking the Spleen and Draining the Stomach), containing Huangqin (Scutellaria), Heishen (Scrophularia), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia), Dahuang (Rhubarb), Zhimu (Anemarrhena), Zhizi (Gardenia), Shigao (Gypsum), and Chongweizi (Leonurus Seed); or Liying San (Instant Response Powder), containing Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica), Yangzhizhu Hua (Rhododendron Flower), Ebusicao (Centipeda), Shexiang (Musk), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), and Xionghuang (Realgar).
Formula: Tongpi Xiewei Tang (Decoction for Unblocking the Spleen and Draining the Stomach)
Huangqin (Scutellaria) 1.5 qian; Heishen (Scrophularia), Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia), Dahuang (Rhubarb), Zhimu (Anemarrhena, stir-fried), Zhizi (Gardenia) [blank], each 1 qian; Shigao (Gypsum) [blank] 2 qian; Chongweizi (Leonurus Seed) 2 qian.
Coarsely grind the above herbs. Add two zhan of water, decoct until one zhan remains. Strain and take warm at a time far removed from meals.
Formula: Liying San (Instant Response Powder)
Baizhi (Angelica Dahurica), Yangzhizhu Hua (Rhododendron Flower, reduce dosage by half), Ebusicao (Centipeda, washed and sun-dried), Shexiang (Musk, a small amount), Danggui (Angelica Sinensis), Xionghuang (Realgar, separately ground and added later), all in equal proportions.
Grind the above herbs into fine powder. Use a small amount each time, hold in the mouth, and instill into the nasal cavity. Continue until turbid nasal discharge and tears are completely expelled.
[Note] [1] Huangmo Shangchong (Yellow Membrane Rushing Upward) originates from the Qi Lun (white part of the eye). A sheet of yellow membrane rushes straight up from below into the Feng Lun (black part of the eye), covering the pupil. This is due to Wind-Heat of the Spleen and Stomach rushing upward to the eyes, causing the formation of the yellow membrane, accompanied by tearing, redness, dryness, and severe pain. It is appropriate to use Tongpi Xiewei Tang (Decoction for Unblocking the Spleen and Draining the Stomach) internally combined with the external application of Liying San (Instant Response Powder).
