Postpartum cough occurring within or slightly beyond ten days. Although there is a cold pathogen invasion presenting with nasal congestion and heavy voice, treatment should primarily focus on the blood aspect. If external pathogens are present, they should be treated as secondary. In this way, chronic cough will naturally be avoided. If clearing pathogens is prioritized over treating blood stasis, it will inevitably lead to prolonged retention of blood stasis, eventually developing into consumptive disease (Lao Qie). It is suitable to use Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) as the main formula, assisted by herbs that clear pathogens. I use Su Fei Sheng Hua Tang (Lung-Suppurating and Stasis-Resolving Decoction) to treat this condition.
