Those occurring above the neck, appearing in a continuous sequence of nine. Treatment:
One chicken egg (Gallus gallus domesticus), one fen of Moschus (She Xiang, 麝香), five fen of Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian, 冰片).
First steam the chicken egg until cooked, cut it in half, remove the yolk and keep only the white. Sprinkle the two medicines on the ulcer; starting from the first ulcer that appeared initially, cover it with the chicken egg white. Externally, burn dry Artemisia argyi (Ai Ye, 艾叶) for moxibustion, stopping when pain is felt; if pain becomes extreme, pause temporarily. When pain subsides, resume burning, changing the chicken egg as needed, burning approximately five to six times day and night. The next day, replace the Borneol and Moschus, and burn as before, continuing until healed. Internally:
Taraxaci Herba (Pugongying, 蒲公英), Prunellae Spica (Xiakucao, 夏枯草), Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jinyinhua, 金银花) each two qian, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma cum Stimulis (Gancao Jie, 甘草节) one qian.

Liuzhu (Flowing Abscess) refers to a condition where the lesion first appears on the back, then flows and spreads, scattering across the waist, back, and limbs. It may appear or disappear, be painful or painless, without a fixed location. The treatment principle should employ formulas that dispel wind and clear fire, while simultaneously dissipating toxicity. Formula:
Cimicifugae Rhizoma (Shengma, 升麻) one qian, Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui, 当归) five qian, Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 黄芩) one qian, Trichosanthis Radix (Gualou, 栝蒌) two qian, Lonicerae Japonicae Flos (Jinyinhua, 金银花) one liang, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Gancao, 甘草) two qian (roasted), Forsythiae Fructus (Lianqiao, 连翘) three qian, Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix (Qinjiao, 秦艽) two qian, Xanthii Fructus (Canger, 苍耳) one qian, Kalanchoes Radix (Malangen, 马兰根) one qian, Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix (Niuxi, 牛膝) one qian, and Pharbitidis Semen (Qianniu, 牵牛) one qian.

Arisaema Cum Bile (Tiannanxing, 天南星).
Grind into powder, mix with sour vinegar, apply several times, and it will subside naturally. Alternatively, catch:
Vespertilio (Bat, 蝙蝠).
Roast to ash, mix with rapeseed oil, and apply to the affected area; it will heal in two or three applications.
Sudden swelling in the cheek region belongs to Wind-Heat syndrome. Available remedy:
Chrysanthemi Indici Folium (Yejuhua Ye, 野菊花叶).
Pound into a paste, apply around the periphery of the swelling, and the swelling will subside naturally. Alternatively, grind snails with flour and apply; this is also effective.
Tianpao Chuang (Bullous Skin Disease) occurs on the head, face, and all over the body including hands and feet, mostly in summer. The treatment principle should tonify Qi and assist with clearing summerheat, so that Fire-Toxicity will naturally dissipate and the sores will heal easily. Formula:
Moslae Herba (Xiangru, 香薷), Trichosanthis Radix (Tianhuafen, 天花粉), Astragali Radix (Sheng Huang, 生黄), Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma (Zhi Gancao, 炙甘草), and Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin, 黄芩) each one qian; Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu, 白术), Poria (Fuling, 茯苓), and Ophiopogonis Radix (Maidong, 麦冬) each two qian; Platycodonis Radix (Jiegeng, 桔梗) one qian five fen; Codonopsis Radix (Renshen, 人参) and Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex (N Houpo, 浓朴) each five fen; and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (Chenpi, 陈皮) three fen.
Decoct in water and take; several doses will lead to spontaneous healing. Externally:
Starch five qian, Calomelas (Qingfen, 轻粉) five fen, Realgar (Xionghuang, 雄黄) three qian.
Grind the three together into a fine powder. Use half a cup of juice extracted from pounding Luffae Fructus Retusus Caulis (Siguye, 丝瓜叶). Mix and apply to the sores; the effect is miraculous.
For children, use:
Soot from incense burner lids (Xianglugai Shang Yanzhi, 香炉盖上烟脂) three qian, Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian, 黄连) and Indigo Naturalis (Qingdai, 青黛) each two qian, and Borneolum Syntheticum (Bingpian, 冰片) two fen.
Grind each into a fine powder separately. Mix with albumen ovum Galli (Jizi Qing, 鸡子清) or Sus Fel (Zhudan Zhi, 猪胆汁) for application; this is extremely effective.
